Micromachined patch antennas

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1998
This paper presents the use of selective lateral etching based on micromachining techniques to enhance the performance of rectangular microstrip patch antennas printed on high-index wafers such as silicon, GaAs, and InP. Micromachined patch antennas on Si substrates have shown superior performance over conventional designs where the bandwidth and the ...

Terahertz patch antenna

Tenth International Symposium on Ultrafast Phenomena and Terahertz Waves (ISUPTW 2021), 2021
We propose a novel patch antenna operating at 300 GHz. The antenna has a footprint of 500 μm × 500 &mum and a height of 198 &mum. The matching and radiation properties are studied. The simulation results show that the return loss (S11) is below -10 dB in the frequency range of 290.75 to 308.20 GHz and the relative bandwidth is 5.8%.

Hat patch antenna

Proceedings of IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium and URSI National Radio Science Meeting, 2002
A new type of annular patch antenna is presented. At variance of classical annular patch antenna the inner cylindrical wall is metallized. If radiates like a circular patch but has a smaller stored energy and the feed point can be chosen to have an easy matching. >

Shorted annular patch antenna

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 1995
AbstractA new type of annular patch antenna is presented. At variance of classical annular patch antenna the inner edge is shorted by a cylindrical conducting wall. Therefore this antenna radiates as a circular patch but has a smaller stored energy, which allows a larger bandwidth, and the feed point can be chosen to have an easy matching.

Multihole-coupled patch antennas

IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium. 1996 Digest, 2002
An accurate and numerically efficient model for the electromagnetic coupling between a microstrip line and a microstrip patch via small holes is presented. In the framework of the cavity model both the antenna excitation and the reflection coefficient on the line are computed taking into account all the modes in the cavity.
