Kanji Patch Antennas

2018 IEEE International Workshop on Electromagnetics:Applications and Student Innovation Competition (iWEM), 2018
This article introduces the basic concepts of Kanji patch antennas. We use two novel L-probe-fed Guo-and Meng-shaped patches operating in circular polarization as examples. The main parameters of these symmetrical and asymmetrical shaped patch antennas were studied and optimized via computer-aided simulation.

Meshed Patch Antennas

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2004
Conventional microstrip patch antennas are printed with continuous solid copper shapes and ground planes. The general properties of meshed patches are presented in this paper where both the patch itself and the ground plane are meshed. The gain, cross-polarization, bandwidth and radiation patterns are discussed for different combinations of patch and ...

Back-fed coplanar patch antennas

33rd European Microwave Conference Proceedings (IEEE Cat. No.03EX723C), 2003
In this paper, a new coplanar patch antenna (CPA) with back-feeding structure has been introduced. The simulation and experiment for the proposed antennas have been done at X-band. The measured results clearly demonstrated that the back-fed CPA has a similar behaviors as the CPA with a surface feeding structure: it operates as a patch antenna rather ...

The cylindrical omnidirectional patch antenna

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 2001
In recent years, the need for omnidirectional antennas for wireless applications increased considerably. The antennas are used in a variety of bands anywhere from 1.7 to 2.5 GHz, in different configurations which mainly differ in gain. The omnidirectionality is mostly obtained using back-to-back elements or simply using dipoles in different collinear ...

Microstrip Patch Antenna

2016
The demand for smaller, conformable antennas with desired properties has made antenna Engineers to device better ways of making antennas. The patch antenna comes to the rescue, as it provides the features needed in antennas used in the telecoms, meteorological and military industries, where light weight low profile antennas are required. The Microstrip

Beam scannable microstrip patch antenna

2014 International Workshop on Antenna Technology: Small Antennas, Novel EM Structures and Materials, and Applications (iWAT), 2014
A novel beam scanning technique of a ferrite loaded microstrip patch antenna is presented. Beam scanning is produced from controlled interaction of the radiated fields and the gyromagentic properties of the axially magnetized ferrite rods. By varying the magnetizing fields of the ferrite rods, optimally placed in the near field region of the antenna ...

Microstrip Patch Antenna

2020
This chapter elaborates in detail on the microstrip patch antenna, which is widely utilized in the receivers of radio telescopes, as well as in the wireless communication industry today. Several models have been developed to analyze and design the patch antennas.

Dual frequency patch antenna using partially shorted annular ring patch antenna

2014 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium (APSURSI), 2014
In this paper, a dual frequency patch antenna using partially shorted annular ring patch antenna is proposed. The resonant frequency can be controlled by adjusting the number or the radii of the shorted pin, without changing the radiator size itself. Design and experimental results have good agreement, and the effectiveness is confirmed.

Reconfigurable hilbert curve patch antenna

IWAT 2005. IEEE International Workshop on Antenna Technology: Small Antennas and Novel Metamaterials, 2005., 2005
A novel reconfigurable Hilbert curve patch antenna (RHCPA) is proposed. The patch is figured using the third order Hilbert curve. By introducing some slots, at least two configurations of the antenna with different radiation patterns are formed. Micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) switches are used to change the antenna configuration and hence the ...

Microstrip Patch Antennas

2014
With the rapid development of printed circuit technology, printed antennas have found numerous applications in high-performance systems where size, weight, and cost are of significant importance. The most notable feature of these printed antennas is that they are low profile.
