A METHOD TO QUANTIFY WEED DISTRIBUTION FOR RELATING TO PATCH SPRAYING SYSTEMS

Transactions of the ASAE, 2005
A method of processing weed maps to quantify the spatial distribution of weeds in a field was developed using distance transform image analysis. Distance transform analysis involved the calculation of the distance of every non-weed pixel from the nearest weed pixel or vice versa.

Self-Bonded Hydrogel Inverse Opal Particles as Sprayed Flexible Patch for Wound Healing

ACS Nano, 2022
Wound healing is an important issue for regenerative medicine. Attempts in this area tend to develop functional wound patches to promote the healing. Here, we present self-bonded hydrogel inverse opal particles as sprayed flexible patch for wound healing.

More controllable acoustic spray patch

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2007
A more controllable acoustic ceiling patch or textured material in the form of a sprayable composition includes a base, a filler, an adhesive binder, an anti-foaming agent, a suspension agent, and rubber particulates or polyethylene particulates forming an aggregate suitable for spraying in the presence of volatile organic compound (VOC) propellants ...

Evaluation of two patch spraying systems in winter wheat and maize

Weed Research, 2012
Gutjahr C, Sökefeld M & Gerhards R (2012). Evaluation of two patch spraying systems in winter wheat and maize. Weed Research52, 510–519.SummaryFifteen field experiments were conducted in winter wheat and maize to analyse the spatial distribution of weed species and to evaluate two systems of site‐specific weed control.

Canola - Weed Identification for Machine Vision based Patch Spraying

2008 Providence, Rhode Island, June 29 - July 2, 2008, 2008
Canola oil is healthy cooking oil due to low saturated fat content. Current US demand is met by imports equivalent of 1.2 M ha of production each year. Another emerging use of canola oil is as bio-diesel feedstock. Both demands led to increased acreage and research focus. Early stage weed control is a critical operation to minimize yield losses.

A comparison of the abuse liability and dependence potential of nicotine patch, gum, spray and inhaler

Psychopharmacology, 2000
Nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) in varying forms is becoming widely used. Clinicians, therapists and regulatory authorities are interested in the abuse liability and dependence potential of the different forms. To compare the abuse liability and dependence potential of nicotine gum, transdermal patch, spray and inhaler.504 male and female smokers ...

Beyond patch spraying: site-specific weed management with several herbicides

Precision Agriculture, 2008
Site-specific weed management can include both limiting herbicide application to areas of the field where weed pressure is above the economic threshold (patch spraying) and varying the choice of herbicide for most cost-effective weed control of local populations.

Combination Rapid-Acting Nicotine Mouth Spray and Nicotine Patch Therapy in Smoking Cessation

Nicotine & Tobacco Research, 2014
Improved smoking cessation rates are urgently required if New Zealand is to reach its target of a smokefree nation by 2025, during which some 600,000 smokers will need to quit. Nicotine replacement therapy remains a core part of the pharmacological approach to smoking cessation.

Nicotine Administration In Rabbits Using Habitrol® Nicotine Patches And Nicotine Nasal Spray

Clinical and Experimental Pharmacology and Physiology, 2000
SUMMARY1. Several methods are used to provide predictable and effective nicotine to experimental animals in scientific studies. Due to the expense and technical challenges of these methods, we sought suitable alternatives. Consequently, the purpose of the present study was to develop a reliable experimental nicotine protocol in rabbits that included ...
