In this chapter we investigate the foundations of curves and surface patches. This is a very large and complex subject and it will be impossible to delve too deeply. However, we can explore many of the ideas that are essential to understanding the mathematics behind 2D and 3D curves and how they are developed to produce surface patches.

A narrowband patch antenna with a dielectric patch
2008 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium, 2008In this contribution, we have discussed a narrowband patch antenna, which uses a thick dielectric patch instead of the metal patch, but still operates in the microstrip mode. The corresponding impedance bandwidth of the antenna may be higher than for the metal patch of the same size. A literature search did not indicate prior references related to this

Rhizoctonia solani Kuhn [Thanatephorus cucumeris (Frank) Donk] causes a number of patch diseases. These include Rhizoctonia bare patch of cereals and other crops (R. solani AG 8), crater disease of cereals (Deacon and Scott, 1985; Smith and Wehner, 1986, 1988; Opperman and Barnard 1992; AG unknown), patch of tulips (AG 2-1-tulip; see Chapter V.4) and ...

New HMAC Message Patches: Secret Patch and CrOw Patch
2015At Asiacrypt 2012, Peyrin eti?źal. showed generic attacks against the HMAC design. They utilized a pair of related keys where only the relation between the keys is known to the attacker but not the keys themselves the secret key model. On similar lines, at Crypto 2012, Dodis eti?źal.

Prognostic patch testing: The other kind of patch test
American Journal of Contact Dermatitis, 1998Prognostic patch testing differs from diagnostic patch testing. Clinicians routinely perform diagnostic patch testing, but prognotic patch testing is the province of corporate research and development departments and, in the United States, contract laboratories.
