Tissue engineering for tendon and ligament repair: Insights and advances

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
Tendon and ligament injuries are widespread diseases, leading to severe pain and a consequent reduced mobility. This phenomenon is mainly due to the limited ability to self‐healing of these tissues. Unfortunately, the currently available surgical and rehabilitative treatments suffer frequent complications and incomplete success.

Significance of Diffusion Tensor Imaging of Vastus Medialis Oblique in Recurrent Patellar Dislocation

open access: yesChinese Medical Journal, 2017
Background: Numerous studies have investigated the influence of osseous factors on patellofemoral joint instability, but research on the influence of dynamic muscle factors in vivo is still in the exploratory stage.

New Zealand Joint Registry Surgeon‐Level Feedback: The Influence of Reporting Timeframe on Distribution of Reasons for Revision Following Total Knee Arthroplasty

open access: yesANZ Journal of Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background National joint registries have improved arthroplasty surgery by creating databases that monitor implant performance and recognize early implant failure. The New Zealand Joint Registry (NZJR) provides surgeon reports on individual revision rates, and outliers are identified using funnel plots.

Treatment options for patellofemoral instability in sports traumatology

open access: yesOrthopedic Reviews, 2013
Patellofemoral instability not only involves lateral patellar dislocation, patellar mal-tracking or subluxation but can also cause a limiting disability for sports activities.

Orthopedic surgery after selective dorsal rhizotomy in children with cerebral palsy: A matched cohort study

open access: yesDevelopmental Medicine &Child Neurology, EarlyView.
Using historical data from a single center, we identified two groups of individuals based on their history of SDR (yes‐SDR and no‐SDR), matched at baseline on key clinical variables. We defined 10 orthopedic surgery categories. We then fitted Kaplan–Meier estimates of cumulative incidence for each surgery, stratified according to SDR status.

Medial Compartment Knee Osteoarthritis Altered Tibiofemoral Joint Kinematics and Contact Pattern During Daily Weight‐Bearing Extension

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, Volume 17, Issue 5, Page 1478-1485, May 2025.
Under the surveillance of dual fluoroscopic imaging system (DFIS), the MCKOA side tibia showed more flexed and varus rotations and more posterior, lateral, proximal translations than its native side during daily extension, consistent with the extra medial shifts of contact patterns on MCKOA side tibial plateau.

A Comparative CT Study on Anatomical Characteristics of Pediatric Habitual Patellar Dislocation in Extension and Flexion

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, EarlyView.
We focused on investigating anatomical differences between the extended dislocation and the flexed dislocation of HDP. And we found that patients with HDP in extension had patella alta, more severe patellar dysplasia, while those with HDP in flexion had more inclined patellae, laterally positioned patellae when knees extended, and more dysplastic ...
