Equivalence of 1-loop RG flows in 4d Chern-Simons and integrable 2d sigma-models

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
We argue for the matching of 1-loop divergences between 4d Chern-Simons theory with Disorder defects and the corresponding integrable 2d σ-models of non-ultralocal type.

Should I stay or should I go: a comparative analysis of Catalan and Scottish separatisms

open access: yesMonções, 2020
What are the differences between Catalonian and Scottish separatisms that resulted in different outcomes for the referendums in the 2010’s? This paper proposes a comparative study between the two regions’ path, making use of the path dependency concept ...

Statistical turbulence suppression by a strong magnetic field: A Feynman path integral argument [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Physics, 2001
We show the suppression of the randomness of the magnetohydrodynamic flux (modeled by the Navier–Stokes equation) in the presence of a random stirring by a Feynman path integral one-loop and low viscosity argument. Additionally, we show exactly the above supressing turbulence phenomenon in the context of Beltrami fluxes.

Global anomalies in Chiral Lattice Gauge Theory

open access: yes, 1999
As first realized by Witten an SU(2) gauge theory coupled to a single Weyl fermion suffers from a global anomaly. This problem is addressed here in the context of the recent developments on chiral gauge theories on the lattice.

Harmonic BRST Quantization of Systems with Irreducible Holomorphic Boson and Fermion Constraints

open access: yes, 1993
We show that the harmonic Becchi-Rouet-Stora-Tyutin method of quantizing bosonic systems with second-class constraints or first-class holomorphic constraints extends to systems having both bosonic and fermionic second-class or first-class holomorphic ...

A note on background independence in AdS3 string theory

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
In this note, we comment on the path integral formulation of string theory on M $$ \mathcal{M} $$ × S3 × T 4 $$ {\mathbbm{T}}^4 $$ where M $$ \mathcal{M} $$ is any hyperbolic 3-manifold.

Fermionic localization of the schwarzian theory

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2017
The SYK model is a quantum mechanical model that has been proposed to be holographically dual to a 1 + 1-dimensional model of a quantum black hole. An emergent “gravitational” mode of this model is governed by an unusual action that has been called the ...

Allamah Jawadi Amuli and the Necessary Cognitions in Spiritual Wayfaring [PDF]

open access: yesحکمت اسرا, 2011
The paper discusses the situation and role of cognition in a wayfarer’s spiritual journey. The argument is presented with a focus on Allamah Javadi’s views on this subject which are based primarily on the Unity of God and the Right Path and the concept ...

Kruskal's Tree Theorem for Acyclic Term Graphs [PDF]

open access: yesElectronic Proceedings in Theoretical Computer Science, 2016
In this paper we study termination of term graph rewriting, where we restrict our attention to acyclic term graphs. Motivated by earlier work by Plump we aim at a definition of the notion of simplification order for acyclic term graphs. For this we adapt
