Path Coefficient Analysis in Sugarcane
Journal of the Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science, 2007A study was conducted to estimate heritability of selected traits, and determine direct and indirect effects of selected plant traits on cane yield and sucrose content in sugarcane ( Saccharum officinarum L.). Sixteen clones were evaluated in a replicated field experiment under irrigated conditions at Sugarcane Research Program, Jitpur, Nepal in 1999 ...

Path Coefficient Analysis in Castor
MADRAS AGRICULTURAL JOURNAL, 1981is an important oil producing crop of India, hence the knowledge about the breeding behaviour of castor and its plant type is very essential for launching efficient breeding technology. The cor-reletion which is primary tool of breeding programme only provides the amount of association of the character while path coefficient gives the relative ...

PATH COEFFICIENT ANALYSIS IN BLACKGRAM
Madras Agricultural Journal, 1992Variability, heritability and genetic advance were estimated for sixteen characters in twenty blackgram (Urd) types. phenotypic and genotypic coefficient of variation for dry leaf weight was high followed by seed yield and leaf area. Genetic advance was high for seed yield followed by dry leaf weight.

Fisher, Wright, and Path Coefficients
Biometrics, 1968The method of path coefficients is essentially a device for analysis or decomposition of a correlation coefficient under a structure of causal relationships among linearly related variables. This memorial note shows that Sir Ronald in 1918 had a clear notion that a correlation coefficient may consist of several 'factors,' each corresponding to a ...

The Geometry of Path Coefficients and Correlations
Biometrical Journal, 1982AbstractIn the present paper, a generalized cosine formula is obtained for the difference between two angles in a k‐dimensional Euclidean space, which is utilized to derive one of the principles of path analysis, namely, the correlation between two random variables is the sum of all connecting paths between them.

Path Coefficients and Path Regressions: Alternative or Complementary Concepts?
Biometrics, 1960(1) The authors concur with Tukey in treating the standardized and concrete forms of correlational statistics as if they were alternative conceptions between which it is necessary to make a choice. It has always seemed to me that these should be looked upon as two aspects of a single theory corresponding to different modes of interpretation which ...

The Interpretation of Path Coefficients
Sociology, 1974In his attack on my investigations of the method of path analysis Mr. Allan* commits a number of errors of logic which invalidate his criticisms. However, before describing these errors I wish to comment briefly on some of his more general observations.
