Assessing Recidivism Risk Across Female Pathways to Crime
Justice Quarterly, 2006Actuarial tools, such as the Level of Supervision Inventory—Revised (LSI‐R), are regularly used to classify offenders as “high,” “medium,” and “low” recidivism risks.

Multi-Pathway and Cumulative Risk Assessment
2001Most pollution control strategies can be characterized as a single -medium, single pollutant, approach. Such an approach begins by dividing the environment into three primary compartments: air, water, and land (soil). Pollution problems then are grouped into three categories: air pollution, water pollution, and solid waste pollution problems.

Deoxynivalenol: signaling pathways and human exposure risk assessment—an update
Archives of Toxicology, 2014Deoxynivalenol (DON) is a group B trichothecene and a common contaminant of crops worldwide. This toxin is known to cause a spectrum of diseases in animals and humans such as vomiting and gastroenteritis. Importantly, DON could inhibit the synthesis of protein and nucleonic acid and induce cell apoptosis in eukaryote cells.

Chronic inflammation, Adverse Outcome Pathways, and risk assessment: A diagrammatic exposition
Regulatory Toxicology and Pharmacology, 2020Inflammasomes are a family of pro-inflammatory signaling complexes that orchestrate inflammatory responses in many tissues. The NLRP3 inflammasome has been implicated in several diseases associated with chronic inflammation. In this paper, we present an Adverse Outcome Pathway (AOP) for NLRP3-induced chronic inflammatory diseases that demonstrates how ...

Pathway Analysis Tools and Toxicogenomics Reference Databases for Risk Assessment
Pharmacogenomics, 2007The pharmaceutical industry has begun to leverage a range of new technologies (proteomics, pharmacogenomics, metabolomics and molecular toxicology [e.g., toxicogenomics]) and analysis tools that are becoming increasingly integrated in the area of drug discovery and development.

MYRIAD-EU: towards Disaster Risk Management pathways in multi-risk assessment
2022<p>Whilst the last decades have seen a clear shift in emphasis from managing natural hazards to managing risk, the majority of natural hazard risk research still focuses on single hazards. Internationally, there are calls for more attention for multi-hazards and multi-risks. Within the EU-funded project MYRIAD-EU, we argue for an approach

Advancing Adverse Outcome Pathways for Risk Assessment
2018The Adverse Outcome Pathway (AOP) framework was first proposed by Ankley and colleagues back in 2010 (Ankley et al. Environ Toxicol Chem 29:730–741, 2010). AOPs organize information across biological levels of organization, with common terminology and concepts and with the goal of informing human and ecological risk assessment.

Uncertainty in Multi-Pathway Risk Assessment for Combustion Facilities
Human and Ecological Risk Assessment: An International Journal, 2012ABSTRACT Multi-pathway risk assessments (MPRAs) of contaminant emissions to the atmosphere consider both direct exposures, via ambient air, and indirect exposures, via deposition to land and water. MPRAs embody numerous interconnected models and parameters.

Assessing Risks of Decarbonization Pathways in Indonesia
Asian Economic PapersAbstract To limit global warming below the 1.5°C target, over 145 countries have established or are exploring a target of net-zero emissions by mid century. We assess the risk and feasibility of Indonesia in achieving its climate target.
