Outcome Assumptions and Duality Theory for Balancing Weights [PDF]
We study balancing weight estimators, which reweight outcomes from a source population to estimate missing outcomes in a target population. These estimators minimize the worst-case error by making an assumption about the outcome model. In this paper, we show that this outcome assumption has two immediate implications.

On the Actionability of Outcome Prediction [PDF]
Predicting future outcomes is a prevalent application of machine learning in social impact domains. Examples range from predicting student success in education to predicting disease risk in healthcare. Practitioners recognize that the ultimate goal is not just to predict but to act effectively.

How continuous quantum measurements in finite dimension are actually discrete [PDF]
We show that in finite dimension a quantum measurement with continuous set of outcomes is always equivalent to a continuous random choice of measurements with only finite outcomes.

Modern psychometrics applied in rheumatology - a systematic review [PDF]
Background Although item response theory (IRT) appears to be increasingly used within health care research in general, a comprehensive overview of the frequency and characteristics of IRT analyses within the rheumatic field is lacking. An overview of the
