Binary constant-length substitutions and Mahler measures of Borwein polynomials [PDF]
We show that the Mahler measure of every Borwein polynomial -- a polynomial with coefficients in $ \{-1,0,1 \}$ having non-zero constant term -- can be expressed as a maximal Lyapunov exponent of a matrix cocycle that arises in the spectral theory of binary constant-length substitutions.

High Quality of Care Delivery Improves Patient Satisfaction and Quality of Life Outcomes After Breast Augmentation [PDF]
Background: Breast augmentation is one of the most common aesthetic procedures worldwide. Most studies have focused on evaluating the outcome with validated patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) and factors that may influence them.

This study characterised health‐related quality of life among patients with alopecia areata using the EQ‐5D‐5L and the Alopecia Areata Patient Priority Outcomes (AAPPO) psychosocial subscales. Survey responses from 435 patients were stratified by physician‐reported percent of scalp hair loss (SHL). AAPPO effect sizes were largest between extreme values

Simple Sensitivity Analysis for Differential Measurement Error [PDF]
Simple sensitivity analysis results are given for differential measurement error of either the exposure or the outcome. In the case of differential measurement error of the outcome it is shown that the true effect of the exposure on the outcome on the risk ratio scale must be at least as large as the observed association between the exposure and the ...
