ChemNanoMat, Volume 11, Issue 12, December 2025.Cobalt‐based M–N–C catalysts are evaluated for the transfer hydrogenolysis of oxidized lignin model compounds using formic acid. The synergy between cobalt nanoparticles (CoNPs) and sub‐nanometric Co(II) species in a N‐doped carbon matrix enables efficient CO bond cleavage under mild conditions.
