Typification of Caesalpinia desertorum and its nomenclatural priority over Caesalpinia bracteosa (Leguminosae, Caesalpinioideae)

Abstract Caesalpinia desertorum was not properly typified and has long remained of uncertain taxonomic position. A critical reassessment of the original material cited in the protologue, together with historical herbarium collections and associated literature, allows us to designate a lectotype and clarify its identity.
