Improved indoor localization using k‐medoids and k‐nearest neighbour algorithms with context similarity coefficient‐based fingerprint similarity metric

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering
Fingerprint database clustering and localization using k‐medoids and k‐nearest neighbour (k‐NN) algorithms respectively typically use distance‐based fingerprint similarity metrics, with their performances dependent on the type of distance metric used ...

Pattern matching and pattern discovery algorithms for protein topologies

open access: yes, 2001
We describe algorithms for pattern matching and pattern learning in TOPS diagrams (formal descriptions of protein topologies). These problems can be reduced to checking for subgraph isomorphism and finding maximal common subgraphs in a restricted ...

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

Multivariate Constrained Elastic Matching With Application in Real-Time Energy Disaggregation

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Computer Society
Non-Intrusive Load Monitoring (NILM) aims to estimate the power consumption of electrical appliances from the aggregated power consumption. While recent machine learning approaches have demonstrated very high disaggregation accuracies, ensuring real-time

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

Exact Pattern-Aware Extraction for Equality Saturation via Bounded-Depth Tree Covering

open access: yesAlgorithms
Equality saturation explores equivalent program expressions via e-graphs, and its extraction step selects one representative per equivalence class to form an output tree.

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Efficient Pattern Matching Algorithm for Memory Architecture

open access: yes, 2013
[[abstract]]Network intrusion detection system is used to inspect packet contents against thousands of predefined malicious or suspicious patterns. Because traditional software alone pattern matching approaches can no longer meet the high throughput of ...

Video Local Pattern based Image Matching for Visual Mapping

open access: yes, 2015
Image matching plays an important role in visual mapping, a critical task of vision based mobile robot navigation. Based on the observation that the visual content in these video sequences generally changes in a slow and continuous mode, a concept of ...
