Post‐Processing Strengthened 3D Artificial Fingertip with Multi‐Intensity Pain Perception

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
The 3D multi‐intensity pain‐perceptive artificial fingertip (HBAF) is designed, whose mechanical and conductive properties are highly improved via novel post‐processing. With the soft adhesive gel layer, which is grown on the base of HBAF, it is seamlessly assembled with the robotic hand and further evaluates the safe factor of gripping.

Soft Robotic Excretory Care Simulator for Nursing Education: Functional and Perceptual Biomimetics Approach

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
A soft robotic simulator is developed to replicate the digital removal of feces (DRF), a sensitive yet essential nursing procedure. Integrating soft actuators, sensors, and a realistic rectal model, the simulator balances functional fidelity with perceptual realism. Engineering evaluations and nurse feedback confirm its potential to enhance training in

A Novel Approach to Personalized Personality Assessment with the Attachment-Caregiving Questionnaire: First Evidence in Favor of Interpretation-Oriented Inventory Designs

open access: yesPsychology International
In clinical psychology and psychiatry, personality is usually assessed using questionnaires developed through factor analysis (FA). Essential domains are identified, which correspond to questions/items defining a (sub)scale, and each question is rigidly ...

A Proof‐of‐Concept Assessment of a Novel Wearable Eyelid Muscle Device: A Pre‐Clinical Animal Cadaver Study for Eyelid Closure Restoration

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This article introduces a soft wearable eyelid sling device incorporating a hydraulic soft artificial muscle (SAM) for achieving complete closure of an eyelid. The SAM is driven by a cam mechanism that provides a displacement profile closely matched with those of a healthy eyelid.

Functional connectome gradient of prefrontal cortex as biomarkers of high risk for internet gaming disorder

open access: yesNeuroImage
Adolescents and young adults are considered a high-risk group for internet gaming disorder (IGD). Early screening for high-risk individuals with IGD and exploring the underlying neural mechanisms is an effective strategy to reduce the harm of IGD.

Distinguishing True From False Confessions Using Physiological Patterns of Concealed Information Recognition – A Proof of Concept Study Assistant Professor Honorary Research Fellow Associate Professor of Forensic Psychology

open access: yes
Wrongful conviction cases indicate that not all confessors are guilty. However, there is currently no validated method to assess the veracity of confessions. In this preregistered study, we evaluate whether a new application of the Concealed Information Test (CIT) is a potentially valid method to make a distinction between true and false admissions of ...
