Electrostatic Superlattices Beyond 1:1 Stoichiometry

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polymer‐mediated charge regulation drives two hierarchical routes to higher‐stoichiometry nanoparticle superlattices. Tuning the polymer's molecular weight promotes progressive interstitial filling, transforming ZnS into the fully occupied CaF2${\rm CaF}_2$ lattice. Exchanging polymer assignment between large and small nanoparticles instead breaks CsCl

Maintenance and Evaluation of Pavement for Highways

open access: yesFES Journal of Engineering Sciences, 2021
In-service pavement requires maintenance, it may be routine in nature, or may be major reconstruction. A pavement is designed for an assumed period, after the expiry of the design period, the pavement is likely to fail structurally and therefore, it would require a major renewal to extend it life further. Even within the service life of a pavement, the

Optimal prioritisation of asphalt pavement maintenance using gray realation analysis and cost-benefit analysis

open access: yesGrađevinar
Pavement maintenance prioritisation, which considers both quality and cost, is an important decision-making problem. The common approach involves the prioritisation of road repairs with more extensive surface damages but this does not always align with ...

An Edible Chitosan‐Based Acoustic Sensor for Sound‐Responsive Actuation in Edible Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces an edible acoustic sensor for robotic food and edible robotics. Built from a chitosan piezoelectric film between gold electrodes, the sensor enables acoustic communication through ON/OFF keying. Integrated into an edible robot with pneumatically actuated arms and neck, it responds to high‐frequency tones.

Preparing for the Next Transformation in Pavement Management

open access: yes, 2015
Since the initial development of a systems approach for managing pavements in the late 1970's and early 1980's, there have been tremendous changes in the way transportation agencies have designed, constructed, and managed their pavement networks. In just
