Updating, Upgrading, Refining, Calibration and Implementation of Trade-Off Analysis Methodology Developed for INDOT [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
As part of the ongoing evolution towards integrated highway asset management, the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), through SPR studies in 2004 and 2010, sponsored research that developed an overall framework for asset management.

AIRCRAFT RESPONSE BASED AIRPORT PAVEMENT ROUGHNESS EVALUATION

open access: yesDoboku Gakkai Ronbunshu, 1999
Airport pavement roughness is studied including both the subjective evaluation and digital simulation. Pilots' subjective evaluation on surface characteristics is clarified by questionnaires, which indicates that the roughness is one of the most highly influential factors on riding quality and safety. The response of aircraft motion to the longitudinal

Overcoming the Stability Issue for Hydrophobic Hole Transporting Layers Utilized in Tin‐Lead Perovskite and Tandem Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A non‐annealed process is developed for non‐PEDOT:PSS inverted tin‐lead perovskite solar cells to attain PCE 22.67% for the PTAA‐based device. When PTAA is applied in an all‐perovskite tandem solar cell, a record efficiency of 28.14% is obtained with great stability for the efficiency maintaining 96% of its original value for 500 h under one‐sun ...

Public Perceptions of the Midwest’s Pavements - Wisconsin - Phase I (Winter Ride) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The Wisconsin Winter Ride Survey was designed to determine the extent to which drivers were tolerant of the rougher ride of pavements on rural two-lane highways in the winter.

Biomimetic Ion‐Orchestrated Hierarchical Armored Hydrogel Coating for Robust and Multifunctional Surface Protection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Inspired by the skin‐toughening mechanism of marine sponges, an ion‐orchestrated structural engineering strategy is proposed to regulate the surface microstructure of hydrogel coatings, enabling the in situ formation of a robust armor layer that enhances mechanical integrity and provides multifunctional protection by suppressing fouling attachment and ...

Carbon-emission calculation method during operation period based on asphalt pavement performance

open access: yesInternational Journal of Transportation Science and Technology
Current vehicle carbon emission models tend to ignore the influence of road roughness on driving speed selection, which may damage the carbon emission evaluation accuracy.

Fluoride‐Free Adhesives for Low Surface Energy Fluorinated Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A universal, fluoride‐free adhesive achieves a record 4.91 MPa bond strength on PTFE by leveraging amine/amide dipole–dipole interactions, without fluorinated components. This sustainable strategy overcomes the environmental and performance limits of PFAS‐based adhesives, enabling robust, eco‐conscious bonding across diverse materials.

Public Perceptions of the Midwest’s Pavements: Policies and Tradeoffs in Pavement Improvement [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
With the budget crisis plaguing so many states, pavement management will compete more vigorously for limited funds. Findings reported from a tri-state pooled-fund research project provide insights and guidelines for pavement improvement derived from the ...
