Novel hypoglycemic compounds from wild mushroom Paxillus involutus.
Bioorganic Chemistry, 2021Wild mushrooms are an important source of secondary metabolites possessing a broad range of biological activities. In this study, eight new compounds, named furanopaxin A-F (1-6), deoxybisinvolutone (7), and coumarinvol (8) along with two known compounds

Ectomycorrhizae (ECMs) are a highly context-dependent interactions that are not always beneficial for the plant host, sometimes leading to a decrease in plant growth. However, the molecular status of these plants remains unknown.

New bioactive α-pyrone from wild mushroom Paxillus involutus
Natural Product Research, 2021Chemical investigation of Paxillus involutus (Batsch) Fr. led to the isolation of a pair of new enantiomers (E)-5-(4-methoxy-2-oxo-2H-pyran-6-yl)pent-4-en-1-yl 2-hydroxypropanoate (1a/1b) along with 14 known compounds (2–15) for the first time from this ...

The brown roll-rim mushroom (Paxillus involutus) quickly produces biomass in nature, although, being a mycorrhizal fungus, it is rather poorly maintained in culture. Information about its toxic properties is controversial. Until the mid-20th century, the

Bespoke strategies of Paxillus involutus to extract potassium from diverse phyllosilicates.
Phyllosilicates provide a primary source of minerals used by microorganisms and plants, particularly clay minerals, i.e., phyllosilicates of very small particle size. Fungi can actively break down (or "weather") minerals to extract nutrients, but whether

[Toxicity of mushrooms Paxillus involutus and Paxillus atrotomentosus].
Anesteziologiia i reanimatologiia, 2002Thirty-eight patients with mushroom (Paxillus involutus and Paxillus atrotomentosus) poisoning were treated. Slight poisoning (acute gastroenteritis) was diagnosed in 17 patients, medium-severe in 13, severe in 6, and extremely severe in 2 patients. Changes in the LPO-AOD system correlated with the severity of hepatorenal involvement.

Structure Studies of the Metabolites of Paxillus involutus
HETEROCYCLES, 2009The chemical components of Paxillus involutus were isolated from the freshly collected fruit bodies. Mainly on the basis of the NMR and ESI-MS data, the structures of the unknown pigments were determined as 4-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-2-(2-pyrrolidon-5-yl)-4-cyclopentene-1,3-dione and (4Z)-5-hydroxy-2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)-5-(4 ...
