PBAT based nanocomposites for medical and industrial applications
Materials Science and Engineering C, 2012Poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) (PBAT) based nanocomposites were prepared by melt blending PBAT with 5 and 10 wt.% of clay nanoparticles (unmodified and modified montmorillonites, unmodified and modified fluoro-hectorites, and unmodified sepiolites).

Polyurethane prepolymer-modified high-content starch-PBAT films
Carbohydrate Polymers, 2021We report a modified starch-poly(butylene adipate co-terephthalate) (PBAT) film (MSPF) prepared by extrusion blowing. Polyurethane prepolymer (PUP), was modified to the starch to enhance the compatibility. Different contents of amylose was blended with PBAT for improving mechanical strength and oxygen-barrier properties of MSPF.

Biodegradable PBAT/Starch Nanocomposites
Polymer-Plastics Technology and Engineering, 2010Starch-based biodegradable banocomposites of poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate) [PBAT] and organically modified nanoclays were prepared using melt intercalation technique in Haake Torque Rheocord 9000. Two different organically modified nanoclays Cloisite C20A and Cloisite C30B at various wt% (1, 3, 5) have been used for fabrication of ...

PBAT/organoclay composite films: preparation and properties
Polymer Bulletin, 2017Environmental problems caused by the increased waste associated with short-term use of plastic materials, particularly by the food packaging industry, prompted the search for biodegradable alternatives. This contribution studied one of these alternatives, poly(butylene adipate-co-terephthalate)—PBAT, a polymer that is fully biodegradable in common ...

This study investigates the effects of incorporating an epoxy-based Joncryl chain extender on the reactivity and performance of amorphous polylactide/poly(butylene-adipate-co-terephthalate)(PLA/PBAT) blends processed at various temperatures. The impact of using freshly provided PBAT versus aged PBAT on Joncryl's reactivity and blend performance is also
