Thermodynamic theory of PbTiO3
Journal of Applied Physics, 1987A phenomenological thermodynamic theory of PbTiO3 was developed using a modified Devonshire form of the elastic Gibbs free energy. The spontaneous strain as a function of temperature was determined from pure sol-gel derived PbTiO3 powder and used with selected data from the literature to determine the coefficients of the energy function.

A series of Pb(1+x)TiO3/PbZr0.3Ti0.7O3/Pb(1+x)TiO3 (PTO/PZT/PTO) and PbZr0.3Ti0.7O3 (PZT) thin films were prepared by a sol–gel method. Different excess Pb content (x) (x = 0, 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20) were added to the PbTiO3 (PTO) precursors to investigate their effect on ferroelectric and fatigue properties of the PTO/PZT/PTO thin films.

Abstract We have successfully fabricated PbTiO 3 /Au/PbTiO 3 multilayers on (012) LaAlO 3 substrate using metalorganic chemical vapor deposition technique. The multilayers show smooth surface, fine grain size, good stoichiometry and sharp interfaces.

Ion implantation in PbTiO3 films
Journal of Applied Physics, 1992Lead titanate films prepared by the Sol-Gel process were ion implanted at various temperatures. The structural changes were examined by x-ray diffraction, and the composition distribution was studied by secondary ion mass spectra and Rutherford backscattering.

Surface-micromachined PbTiO3 pyroelectric detectors
Applied Physics Letters, 1991Lead titanate (PbTiO3) thin-film pyroelectric infrared detectors have been fabricated on polycrystalline silicon micromechanical membranes. Pyroelectric PbTiO3 thin films of thickness ranging from 0.2 to 0.6 μm were prepared by sol-gel spin casting techniques and deposited on 1.0-μm-thick polycrystalline silicon membranes suspended 1.0 μm above the ...
