High-Efficiency NPC Multilevel Converter Using Super-Junction MOSFETs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Super-junction MOSFETs exhibit low on-state resistances and low switching losses. However, the reverse recovery behavior of their intrinsic diodes and their output capacitance characteristics make their deployment in freewheeling locations challenging ...

A novel current‐source management integrated circuit applied to high‐voltage integrated gate commutated thyristor gate driver

open access: yesHigh Voltage, Volume 10, Issue 3, Page 533-545, June 2025.
Abstract This paper presents a fully customised integrated gate commutated thyristor (IGCT) gate driver monolithic integrated circuit (GDMIC), aiming to address the many shortcomings of traditional IGCT gate driver units composed of discrete components, such as the excessive number of components, low reliability, and complex development processes.

The relationship between power of arc discharge in transformer oil and peak value of the shock wave

open access: yesHigh Voltage, Volume 10, Issue 1, Page 157-166, February 2025.
Abstract Since 2018, there have been seven incidents of explosions and fires in ultra‐high voltage transformers in China, which are caused by internal arc discharge in transformer oil. Various pressure measurement experiments have been conducted to explore the laws of discharge pressure. However, differences in experimental conditions, discharge energy,

Theoretical Modeling and Implementation of Traveling Wave Sensor Based on PCB Coils

open access: yesJournal of Sensors, Volume 2015, Issue 1, 2015., 2015
Based on analyzing characteristics of Rogowski coil, a new type of PCB traveling wave sensor with simple structure, high linearity, and anti‐interference ability is proposed. The sensor has fine physical structure, which can effectively resist external electromagnetic interference by anti‐interference measurement.

Investigation into active‐gate‐driving performance and potential closed‐loop controller implementations for silicon carbide MOSFET modules

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, Volume 17, Issue 12, Page 1540-1551, 16 September 2024.
Switching characteristics of a Silicon Carbide MOSFET module are documented for the single‐pulse active gate driving approach and compared to the conventional gate drive case. EMI suppression benefits are quantified with the use of sensors for magnetic (H) and electric (E) fields.
