Prokaryotic expression and potential application of the truncated PCV-2 capsid protein

open access: yesVirologica Sinica, 2010
Three pairs of specific primers were designed to amplify the F2-1, F2-2 and XF2-2 truncated sequences of ORF2 which encodes the capsid protein of porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV-2). The F2-1 sequence had most of the NLS region of ORF2, but the F2-2 and XF2-2 genes had the NLS region deleted.

Optimization on Preparation Conditions of Salidroside Liposome and Its Immunological Activity on PCV-2 in Mice [PDF]

open access: yesEvidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, 2015
The aim of this study was to optimize the preparation conditions of salidroside liposome with high encapsulation efficiency (EE) and to study the immunological enhancement activity of salidroside liposome as porcine circovirus type 2 virus (PCV-2) vaccine adjuvant.

PCV-2 vaccination modifies the cytokine serum profile in wild boar (Sus scrofa) coinfected with tuberculosis and PCV-2

open access: yesDevelopmental & Comparative Immunology
Animal tuberculosis (TB) and porcine circovirus 2 (PCV-2) coinfections have been associated to the development of severe patterns of tuberculous lesions. These coinfections are frequently observed in wild boar, considered the main wild reservoir of TB in Spain.

Joint Multimodal Deep Learning-based Automatic Segmentation of Indocyanine Green Angiography and OCT Images for Assessment of Polypoidal Choroidal Vasculopathy Biomarkers

open access: yesOphthalmology Science, 2023
Purpose: To develop a fully-automatic hybrid algorithm to jointly segment and quantify biomarkers of polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV) on indocyanine green angiography (ICGA) and spectral domain-OCT (SD-OCT) images. Design: Evaluation of diagnostic

Integration of Nutrition and Organic Agriculture Framework in Managing Gastrointestinal Nematodes in Ruminants

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Gastrointestinal nematode infections damage the gastrointestinal epithelial tissues of ruminants, affecting nutrient utilization and overall production performance. This review outlines host‐gastrointestinal nematode interactions and discusses integrated control strategies, including nutritional supplementation, grazing management, vaccines, and ...

Cost-effectiveness analysis of domestic 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine for children under 5 years of age in mainland China

open access: yesHuman Vaccines & Immunotherapeutics, 2021
Background: The first Chinese domestic 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (WoAnxin®, PCV-13) is available for children aged 2 months to 5 years and is more economical than import vaccine with equal safety and immunogenicity.

MOOC‐Empowered Blended Teaching Mode in Human Anatomy: A Structural Equation Modeling Analysis

open access: yesClinical Anatomy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Human anatomy, a cornerstone course in medical education, faces several challenges, such as teaching resource shortages, compressed class hours, and heavy student workloads. Traditional teaching models of anatomy often fall short in stimulating interest, promoting deep understanding, and enhancing learning engagement.

Robinow syndrome DVL1 variants disrupt morphogenesis and appendage formation in a Drosophila disease model

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Robinow syndrome is a rare developmental syndrome caused by variants in genes in Wnt signaling pathways. We previously showed that expression of patient variants in Dishevelled 1 (DVL1) in Drosophila and chicken models disrupts the balance of canonical and non‐canonical Wnt signaling.
