Ear necrosis reduction in pigs after vaccination against PCV2
Research in Veterinary Science, 2011The influence of sows vaccination against PCV2 on the prevalence of ear necrosis syndrome (ENS) reduction among weaners was analyzed using 12,931 piglets from 45 consecutive batches, born to both, vaccinated and non-vaccinated sows. The results were statistically tested with a nonparametric Kruskal-Wallis and Chi-square tests.

SEROLOGICAL STATUS OF PCV2-INFECTED SWINE HERDS
2023This study aimed to determine the dynamics of serological and virological profiles against Porcine Circovirus type 2 (PCV2) infection in Thai swine herds using the in-house indirect ELISA and real-time PCR techniques. A total of 10 swine herds in Thailand were divided into two groups according to their clinical history. Group A (n=5) had clinical signs

Immune response to PCV2 vaccination in PRRSV viraemic piglets
Veterinary Record, 2016PORCINE circovirus type 2 (PCV2) and porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) are the two most important pathogens currently responsible for major economic losses to the swine industry worldwide. PCV2 vaccines are extensively used and are able to reduce the clinical signs of PCV2-associated disease.

Oro-fecal contamination is of utmost importance in the epidemiology of PCV2 and intestinal immune-competent cells play an important role for the systemic immune response in pigs. From a previous experiment three parts of the intestinal tract (duodenum, jejunum, ileum) of conventional gilts, vaccinated (V) or not (NV) against PCV2 and experimentally ...

Porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) is endemic in swine herds and both viremia and shedding are demonstrated in newborn as well as in adult pigs. The reduction of PCV2 circulation is a protective strategy to be attained by several direct and indirect prophylactic measures.

Since 2004/2005 a worldwide shift of the detection rate of porcine circovirus (PCV) has been observed from PCV2a towards PCV2b. Currently commercially available vaccines are based on genotype PCV2a. The study was conducted as a pilot study to evaluate the occurrence of PCV2a and PCV2b in farms with different vaccination strategies against PCV2.For this
