PD-1/PD-L1, but not PD-1/PD-L2, interactions regulate the severity of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis

Interactions between PD-1 and its two differentially expressed ligands, PD-L1 and PD-L2, attenuate T cell activation and effector function. To determine the role of these molecules in autoimmune disease of the CNS, PD-1-/-, PD-L1-/- and PD-L2-/- mice were generated and immunized to induce experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE).

The PD-1/PD-L1 Pathway in Human Pathology

T-cell activation is dependent on signals delivered through the antigen-specific T-cell receptor and accessory receptors on T-cells. Integration of signals through this family of costimulatory and inhibitory receptors and their ligands regulates the balance between T-cell activation, tolerance, and immunopathology.

Fretting studies of nanocrystalline Pd, Pd-Ag and Pd-Y films

Abstract This work presents fretting and surface reactivity studies of gas phase sputtered nanocrystalline Pd, Pd 90 Y 10 and Pd 60 Ag 40 films deposited on metallic substrates. The thermal stability as well as the surface reactivity of the films to organic vapor were also investigated.

Abstract To study the role of interfaces on magnetic properties, the magnetic anisotropy was systematically investigated for evaporated [Pd( t A)/X( z A)/Pd( t A)/Co( y A)] 15 (X=Au, Cu, Pd) multilayers. The magnetic anisotropy for the multilayers changes with varying an interfacial Pd layer thickness.
