Tailoring the Properties of Functional Materials With N‐Oxides

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 17, 26 February 2026.
The properties of materials bearing N‐oxide groups are often dominated by the polar N+─O− bond. It provides hydrophilicity, selective ion‐binding, electric conductivity, or antifouling properties. Many of the underlying mechanisms have only recently been discovered, and the interest in N‐oxide materials is rapidly growing.

Harnessing Carbon‐Containing Materials for Next‐Generation High‐Temperature Electromagnetic Wave Absorbers

open access: yesCarbon Energy, Volume 8, Issue 2, February 2026.
Traditional carbon materials show limited high‐temperature oxidation resistance, which becomes pronounced above 673 K and significantly restricts their practical applicability. To address this challenge, enhancing polarization loss and leveraging its negative temperature dependence to offset the temperature‐induced increase in conductance loss are ...

Turning PDCA into a Routine For Learning [PDF]

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2016
Mistakenly, many people think plan-do-check-act (PDCA) is a continuous improvement cycle, even if they neglect the human part. PDCA does aim to improve the process, but if you have only improved the process without developing and teaching your people, you have put the process at risk of slipping back. People must be trained in the culture of continuous
