Analytic shock‐fronted solutions to a reaction–diffusion equation with negative diffusivity
Abstract Reaction–diffusion equations (RDEs) model the spatiotemporal evolution of a density field u(x,t)$u({x},t)$ according to diffusion and net local changes. Usually, the diffusivity is positive for all values of u$u$, which causes the density to disperse.

Resurgent aspects of applied exponential asymptotics
Abstract In many physical problems, it is important to capture exponentially small effects that lie beyond‐all‐orders of an algebraic asymptotic expansion; when collected, the full asymptotic expansion is known as a trans‐series. Applied exponential asymptotics has been enormously successful in developing practical tools for studying the leading ...

Random Attractors for Stochastic Retarded Reaction‐Diffusion Equations on Unbounded Domains
This paper is devoted to a stochastic retarded reaction‐diffusion equation on all d‐dimensional space with additive white noise. We first show that the stochastic retarded reaction‐diffusion equation generates a random dynamical system by transforming this stochastic equation into a random one through a tempered stationary random homeomorphism.

An invitation to 2D TQFT and quantization of Hitchin spectral curves
This article consists of two parts. In Part 1, we present a formulation of two-dimensional topological quantum field theories in terms of a functor from a category of Ribbon graphs to the endofuntor category of a monoidal category.

Global existence for a singular phase field system related to a sliding mode control problem
In the present contribution we consider a singular phase field system located in a smooth and bounded three-dimensional domain. The entropy balance equation is perturbed by a logarithmic nonlinearity and by the presence of an additional term involving a ...

This article introduces differential hybrid games, which combine differential games with hybrid games. In both kinds of games, two players interact with continuous dynamics.

A fast phase space method for computing creeping rays [PDF]
Creeping rays can give an important contribution to the solution of medium to high frequency scattering problems. They are generated at the shadow lines of the illuminated scatterer by grazing incident rays and propagate along geodesics on the scatterer ...
