Advances and perspectives in animal models of human hepatitis A virus

Following HAV infection, humans, non‐human primates, and Ifnar1−/− mice develop characteristic manifestations of hepatitis A, including fecal viral shedding, elevated serum ALT levels, and inflammatory cell infiltration in the liver.
