Multistatic Synthetic Aperture Radar Autofocus for Back Projection Imaging of a Moving Target

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 61, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
This paper presents a new metric‐based autofocus approach, called Localised Threshold Sharpness (LTS), which employs Multistatic SAR data to localise and focus a target moving with up to six degrees of freedom motion on a real‐time, pulse‐by‐pulse basis.

A Robust Stochastic Modelling Approach for Tight Integration of Precise Point Positioning and Ultra‐Wide Band

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar &Navigation, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
(1) A robust stochastic modelling approach is proposed for PPP/UWB tightly coupled integration using optimised variance component estimation. (2) In our proposed approach, the VCE‐based stochastic model is optimised with a robust estimation strategy and an adaptive moving window filter technique.

Study on the Influence of Space–Time Adaptive Processor on Single Point Position and Real‐Time Kinematic for GNSS Antenna Array Anti‐jamming Receiver

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar &Navigation, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
This paper studies the influences of STAP algorithms on SPP and RTK systematically. Simulation and experiment results show that the STAP algorithms will deteriorate the performances of SPP and RTK. Results of this paper will provide reference for evaluating the performance of the GNSS antenna array anti‐jamming receiver.

Multi‐Objective Optimization of Cislunar Navigation Constellations and Mission Validation for Lunar Re‐Exploration

open access: yesAdvances in Astronomy, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
To address the limitations of traditional navigation systems in lunar exploration missions regarding positioning accuracy and coverage, this study proposes a multi‐objective optimization framework for the Lunar Navigation Satellite System (LNSS) to support the lunar re‐exploration mission.

Distributed angle‐only orbit determination algorithm for non‐cooperative spacecraft based on factor graph

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar &Navigation, Volume 18, Issue 9, Page 1494-1514, September 2024.
Two distributed algorithms based on factor graphs are proposed, utilising multiple CubeSats angle measurements for the orbit determination of the non‐cooperative spacecraft. The algorithms are applied to the sub‐parent and distributed cluster spacecraft architectures, respectively.

The use of anthropogenic areas helps explain male brown bear movement rates and distance travelled during the mating season

open access: yesJournal of Zoology, Volume 324, Issue 1, Page 83-96, September 2024.
This paper investigated the movement behaviour of GPS‐tracked male brown bears in Finland during the mating vs. non‐mating season and the potential influence of anthropogenic presence. Throughout the year, male bears selected forested/shrub habitats and increased movement rates near main roads, as well as roaming behaviour during the mating season. All
