Prognostic value of the PDW/HDL-C ratio in patients with chest pain symptoms and coronary artery calcification

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine, 2022
BackgroundPlatelet-related parameters and HDL-C have been regarded as reliable and alternative markers of coronary heart disease (CHD) and the independent predictors of cardiovascular outcomes.

Evaluation of platelet distribution width in hypertension with hyperhomocysteinemia

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Hypertension, 2020
An increased platelet distribution width (PDW) value has been found in various cardiovascular diseases. The objective of this study was to evaluate the association between the PDW and hypertension with hyperhomocysteinemia in an elderly cohort.

Association Between Low-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol and Platelet Distribution Width in Acute Ischemic Stroke

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology, 2021
Objective: Elevated low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) is an established risk factor for ischemic stroke; however, whether LDL-C affects the platelet deformation function in the peripheral blood circulation in patients with acute ischemic stroke

Elevated preoperative platelet distribution width predicts poor prognosis in Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2019
Activated platelets play a multifaceted role in tumorigenesis and progression. Platelet distribution width (PDW) is generally applied platelet parameters from routine blood test.

Increased platelet distribution width predicts poor prognosis in melanoma patients

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
Activated platelets promote cancer progression and metastasis. Nevertheless, the prognostic value of platelet indices in melanoma had been rarely reported.

Platelet distribution width (PDW): a putative marker for threatened preterm labour

open access: yesPakistan Journal of Medical Sciences, 2014
To determine the alterations of mean platelet volume (MPV), platelet distribution width (PDW), platelet level and hemoglobin level in pregnancies with threatened preterm labor (TPL).The retrospective analysis of 201 pregnant women with threatened preterm labour admitted to our clinic between 2009 and 2013 and 192 healthy pregnancies was conducted.

Preparation and Electrocatalytic Characteristics of PdW/C Catalyst for Ethanol Oxidation [PDF]

open access: yesCatalysts, 2015
A series of PdW alloy supported on Vulcan XC-72 Carbon (PdW/C) with total 20 wt. % as electrocatalyst are prepared for ethanol oxidation by an ethylene glycol assisted method. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) characterization shows that PdW nanoparticles with an average size of 3.6 nm are well dispersed on the surface of Vulcan XC-72 Carbon.

Improve definition of titanium tandems in MR-guided high dose rate brachytherapy for cervical cancer using proton density weighted MRI

open access: yesRadiation Oncology, 2013
Background For cervical cancer patients treated with MR-guided high dose rate brachytherapy, the accuracy of radiation delivery depends on accurate localization of both tumors and the applicator, e.g. tandem and ovoid.

Whole-genome resequencing reveals genetic structure and introgression in Pudong White pigs

open access: yesAnimal, 2021
Pudong White (PDW) pigs, historically originating from Shanghai, are the only Chinese indigenous pigs characterised by their completely white coats, with the exception of Rongchang pigs.
