PATHOGENIC AND LETHAL EFFECTS OF THE ENTOMOPATHOGENIC NEMATODES ON THE PEACH FRUIT FLY, BACTROCERA ZONATA (SAUNDERS) AND THE CUCURBIT FRUIT FLY, DACUS CILIATUS (LOEW) (DIPTERA : TEPHRITIDAE) [PDF]
Laboratory experiments were performed to evaluate the pathogenic and lethal effects of the entomopathogenic nematodes Hb (Heterorhabditis bacteriophora Poinar) and Sc (Steinernema carpocapsae All strains) on the full grown larvae, newly formed pupae and seven days old adults of the peach fruit fly, Bactrocera zonata and the cucurbit fly, Dacus ciliatus.

POPULATION DENSITY, DIURNAL ACTIVITY AND EFFECT OF TRAP HEIGHT ON CAPTURING OF PEACH FRUIT FLY, Bactrocera zonata (SAUNDERS) AND MEDITERRANEAN FRUIT FLY, Ceratitis capitata (WIEDEMANN) IN GUAVA ORCHARDS AT NUBARIA REGION, EGYPT [PDF]
Field experiments (from December 2012 to December 2013) were carried out to study the population density, the optimum trap height and optimum time for trapping the peach fruit fly (PFF), Bactrocera zonata and Mediterranean fruit fly (MFF), Ceratitis ...

Abstract Understanding the capacity of mobile organisms such as insects to utilize resources across different patches in a landscape can reveal strategies for their conservation. Past research suggests that higher levels of non‐crop habitat or landcover diversity in agricultural regions typically benefit generalist predators who can fortify their diets

In the present study, the toxicity of three oxygenated monoterpenes, viz., (R)-carvone, (R)-camphor and (1R, 2S, 5R)-menthol was evaluated against the adults of the peach fruit fly, Bactrocera zonata (Saunders). Effects of these monoterpenes on oviposition, adult longevity and ovarian development have also been studied.

PLDC‐Net: A Domain‐Specific Base Model for Plant Leaf Disease Classification Domain Adaptation Tasks
ABSTRACT Plant diseases are the cause of heavy losses of crop production and, therefore, a big contributor to food shortages. Identifying these diseases as early as possible is important to limit the negative effects that these diseases have on the yields, as slow response time will lead to the spread of diseases and further loss.

The sterile insect technique is one of the most methods of fruit flies control. Flight ability of the Peach Fruit Fly (PFF), Bactrocera zonata was conducted under laboratory conditions to evaluate the effect of gamma radiation on flight ability of PFF, B. zonata. Pupae of PFF, B.

An intronless version of the white pupae (wp) gene was engineered to restore the wild type brown puparium color in white pupae phenotype mutants of the Mediterranean fruit fly, Ceratitis capitata. Functionality of the minimal gene version (mini‐wp) was verified in vivo, as one copy of mini‐wp successfully restored the wild type phenotype in homozygous ...

Two fruit fly species, Bactrocera zonata (Saunders, 1842) and Zeugodacus tau (Walker, 1849) (Diptera: Tephritidae) were studied with regard to their autosomes and sex chromosomes from mitotic metaphase spreads. Both species are native to South and South-

Here, we present R‐CQ and KAMY, two computational methods developed for the detection of sex chromosome‐linked sequences. We evaluate their performance on newly generated chromosome‐level assemblies of four important Tephritid pest species: Ceratitis capitata, Bactrocera dorsalis, Bactrocera zonata, and Anastrepha ludens.

Summary B‐box (BBX) proteins were initially characterized as transcription factors connecting light signaling to the regulation of flowering time and seedling photomorphogenesis. However, over the last decade, increasing evidence has shown that they integrate light and hormone signaling, modulating multiple physiological processes during plant life. In
