FIELD AND LABORATORY STUDIES ON INFESTATION OF IMMATURE MANGO FRUITS BY THE PEACH FRUIT FLY, BACTROCERA ZONARA (SAUNDERS) [PDF]

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Agricultural Research, 2017
the peach fruit fly, Bactrocerazonata, is one of the fruit flies thatattack mango fruits during maturity and ripening stages causing significant damage. This paper iscontribution for evaluation the role of dropped immature fruits as host of B. zonata through sampling dropped mango fruits of different varieties at different stages of maturity in ...

Assessment Effect of Gamma Radiation on the Flight Ability of the Peach Fruit Fly, Bactrocera zonata (Saunders)

open access: yesPakistan Journal of Biological Sciences, 2013
The sterile insect technique is one of the most methods of fruit flies control. Flight ability of the Peach Fruit Fly (PFF), Bactrocera zonata was conducted under laboratory conditions to evaluate the effect of gamma radiation on flight ability of PFF, B. zonata. Pupae of PFF, B.

PATHOGENIC AND LETHAL EFFECTS OF THE ENTOMOPATHOGENIC NEMATODES ON THE PEACH FRUIT FLY, BACTROCERA ZONATA (SAUNDERS) AND THE CUCURBIT FRUIT FLY, DACUS CILIATUS (LOEW) (DIPTERA : TEPHRITIDAE) [PDF]

open access: yesEgyptian Journal of Agricultural Research, 2011
Laboratory experiments were performed to evaluate the pathogenic and lethal effects of the entomopathogenic nematodes Hb (Heterorhabditis bacteriophora Poinar) and Sc (Steinernema carpocapsae All strains) on the full grown larvae, newly formed pupae and seven days old adults of the peach fruit fly, Bactrocera zonata and the cucurbit fly, Dacus ciliatus.

DNA barcoding for identification of species involved in wildlife strikes at Brazilian airports

open access: yesThe Journal of Wildlife Management, Volume 90, Issue 6, August 2026.
A collaborative network of 42 Brazilian airports applied DNA barcoding to identify 80 species involved in wildlife strikes. Among them, 32 species (17 birds and 15 bats) were not currently available in Brazil's wildlife strike reporting database, underscoring the value of molecular tools for strengthening wildlife strike monitoring. Abstract This study

Toxicity, developmental and histological effects of monoterpenes on peach fruit fly, Bactrocera zonata (Diptera: Tephritidae)

open access: yesJournal of Crop Protection, 2019
In the present study, the toxicity of three oxygenated monoterpenes, viz., (R)-carvone, (R)-camphor and (1R, 2S, 5R)-menthol was evaluated against the adults of the peach fruit fly, Bactrocera zonata (Saunders). Effects of these monoterpenes on oviposition, adult longevity and ovarian development have also been studied.

Preference and performance of Diachasmimorpha Kraussii (Fullaway) (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) on five commerical fruit species

open access: yes, 2010
Diachasmimorpha kraussii is a polyphagous endoparasitoid of dacine fruit flies. The fruit fly hosts of D. krausii, in turn, attack a wide range of fruits and vegetables. The role that fruits play in host selection behaviour of D.
