Peak-to-Average Power Ratio of OTFS Modulation

IEEE Communications Letters, 2019
In this letter, we analyze the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of orthogonal time frequency space modulation (OTFS) waveform. Towards this, we consider modulation symbols on an $N\times M$ delay-Doppler grid, where $N$ and $M$ are the number of Doppler and delay bins, respectively.

On the distribution of the peak-to-average power ratio in OFDM signals

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2001
Summary: The distribution of the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) in strictly band-limited orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) signals is studied. Assuming that the baseband OFDM signal is characterized as a band-limited complex Gaussian process, we first attempt to derive the exact distribution of the PAPR in the band-limited OFDM ...

DMT signals with low peak-to-average power ratio

Proceedings IEEE International Symposium on Computers and Communications (Cat. No.PR00250), 2003
This contribution proposes a new family of methods to reduce the peak-to-average power ratio (PAR) in discrete multi-tone (DMT) and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems. This method avoids the use of extra inverse fast Fourier transformations (IFFT) as were used in some previously published techniques, but instead is based on ...

Analysis of the Peak-To-Average Power Ratio of the Oversampled Ofdm

2006 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics Speed and Signal Processing Proceedings, 2006
The oversampled OFDM modulation is a possible alternative to conventional OFDM for the transmission of signals over multipath fading channels. Indeed with oversampled OFDM, appropriate pulse-shaping can be introduced to fight against time and frequency dispersion.

Calculation of peak-to-average power ratio in DVB-T

47th International Symposium ELMAR, 2005., 2005
Extremely high peak power values are the major problem in digital terrestrial television (DVB-T). They are caused by multi-carrier modulation COFDM (Coded Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex). This paper contains analysis of this problem from the aspect of theoretical peak power maximum and statistical analysis of the problem where DVB-T parameters

Analysis of the Peak-To-Average Power Ratio for OFDM/OQAM

2006 IEEE 7th Workshop on Signal Processing Advances in Wireless Communications, 2006
OFDM/OQAM is now a recognized alternative to conventional OFDM for the transmission of signals over multipath fading channels. Indeed with OFDM/OQAM an appropriate pulse-shaping can be introduced to fight against time and frequency dispersion. This paper focuses on a theoretical and experimental analysis of the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) for ...

Methods for Peak to Average Power Ratio Reduction on SCFDMA

Proceedings of the SouthEast European Design Automation, Computer Engineering, Computer Networks and Social Media Conference, 2016
Single Carrier Frequency Division Multiple Access (SCFDMA) is currently adopted by 3GPP in the LTE cellular systems for the uplink due to its high data rate and low peak-to-average power-ratio (PAPR). In this work, the PAPR for IFDMA (Interleaved Frequency Division Multiple Access), LFDMA (Localized Frequency Division Multiple Access), and DFDMA ...

On Peak-to-Average Power Ratio Optimization for Coded APSK

2018 15th International Symposium on Wireless Communication Systems (ISWCS), 2018
The symmetric information rate is used to define the relationship between the APSK constellation parameters, the code rate, and the average and peak E b /N 0 . Minimizing the average E b /N 0 reproduces the DVB-S2 constellation parameters for 16- and 32-APSK.
