Statistical Peak to Average Power Ratio Bound
International Journal on Communications Antenna and Propagation (IRECAP), 2015Central limit theorem, modern extreme value theory and the theory that the discrete orthogonal frequency division multiplexing signals converge weakly to a Gaussian random process are generally employed to derive the best approximation of peak-to-average power ratio distributions of discrete-time and continuous-time signals. In this paper, we arrive at

Peak-to-Average Power Ratio in WFMT Systems
2006 International Conference on Wireless Communications, Networking and Mobile Computing, 2006This paper discuses the peak to average power ratio (PAR) for the signal of a novel wavelet based filtered multi-tone (WFMT) modulation. The wavelet based filtered multi-tone (WFMT) modulation was developed as an alternative line code for xDSL system and represents future extension of OFDM/DMT technologies.

Peak-to-average power ratio analysis of LDM signals
2015 IEEE International Symposium on Broadband Multimedia Systems and Broadcasting, 2015Layered Division Multiplexing (LDM) is as a new technical solution for multiplexing different services over the same RF channel. it has already been accepted as a baseline technology for the new generation ATSC 3.0 digital terrestrial television (DTT) standard.

Band-shaped analog peak-to-average power ratio reduction
2015 IEEE Radio and Wireless Symposium (RWS), 2015This paper demonstrates a band-shaped all-analog peak-to-average power ratio (PAR) reduction. It uses fast and accurate analog components modeled after circuits implemented in IBM 5PAe 0.35-µm SiGe BiCMOS process. The architecture is designed to precisely clip the RF signal at a certain level, but also employs a clipping function shaping technique to ...

Assessing peak-to-average power ratios for communications applications
IEEE MILCOM 2004. Military Communications Conference, 2004., 2005High peak-to-average ratio (PAR) is a significant drawback for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). Accordingly, many authors have proposed different PAR reduction methods that rely on different trade-offs. It is important to quantify the effectiveness of an individual PAR reduction method.

Peak-to-Average Power Ratio Reduction in MIMO OFDM
2007 IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2007Peak-to-average power ratio (PAR) reduction in OFDM using antenna arrays (MIMO OFDM) is considered. In particular, generalizations of selected mapping (SLM) recently proposed in literature, are studied, and a new version, we call it directed SLM (dSLM), is introduced.

Peak to average power ratio in WLAN-OFDM system
4th National Conference of Telecommunication Technology, 2003. NCTT 2003 Proceedings., 2003Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is one of the multicarrier modulation techniques that can reduce the ISI and delay spread of signal. This technique also allows subchannel to overlap. The orthogonality of the subchannels reduce the bandwidth (BW) and increase the spectral efficiency of system.

Reducing the peak-to-average power ratio of OFDM
VTC '98. 48th IEEE Vehicular Technology Conference. Pathway to Global Wireless Revolution (Cat. No.98CH36151), 2002The distribution of the peak-to-average power (PAP) ratio of an OFDM signal is derived, showing that large PAP ratios only occur very infrequently. Because of this, PAP reducing techniques which distort the signal can be quite effective, since only a small fraction of the OFDM signal has to be distorted.

Peak-to-average power ratio in high-order OFDM
IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2001Summary: The problem of Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) of high-order Orthogonal Frequency-Division Modulation (OFDM) is considered. Using results on level crossing of random processes, an upper bound on the probability that the PAPR of an OFDM signal will exceed a given value is derived.

Peak-to-average power ratio versus instantaneous-to-average power ratio for OFDM
2008 42nd Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers, 2008In the literature, peak-to-average power ratio (PAR) is often used as an indicator for the dynamic range of OFDM signals. PAR is an extreme value statistic and can present an overly pessimistic view of the signal. Instantaneous-to-average power ratio (IAR), on the other hand, reflects more accurately the characteristics of the sample population.
