Abstract Filter bank multicarrier (FBMC) is a new waveform candidate in the visible light communication system (VLC). FBMC is a particular sort of multi-carrier modulation that can be viewed as an option in contrast to orthogonal frequency division multicarrier (OFDM) with CP (cyclic prefix).

Reduction of Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) in Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is investigated here. Clipping can be performed in two ways– one is to clip the complex envelopes of OFDM signal and the other is to clip the Inphase (I-signal) and Quadrature phase (Q-signal) independently.

To improve the efficiency of optical channel, the idea of Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) was evolved in which multiple optical signals on different wavelength were sent through the fiber simultaneously. Later on, the Coherent Optical Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (CO-OFDM) has been introduced into WDM.

High peak to average power ratio (PAPR) is a very serious drawback in Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). We propose the novel approach which is reduce PAPR and Computational complexity without any distortion. In these technique the phase sequence multiplication before perform IFFT operation by using PN sequence generator and second ...

The very high peak to average power ratio (PAPR) is the biggest problem faced by OFDM system which ultimately causes distortion in the transmitted data. In the literatures various techniques have been proposed for the reduction of PAPR. One of the important technique which is known as Selected Mapping (SLM) or distortion-less technique proposed by ...

In this paper, two distortionless PAPR reduction techniques, Selected Mapping (SLM) and Partial Transmit Sequences (PTS), are compared in terms of PAPR reduction capability and computational complexity for equal number of candidate OFDM symbols. Using MATLAB simulation, it is shown that SLM outperforms PTS in PAPR reduction capability. For small values

In this paper, a coherent detection optical OFDM (CO-OFDM) communication system is designed to provide 40 Gbps downstream signaling using Optisystem and MATLAB software. First, the classical Partial Transmission Sequence (PTS) technique is applied to the CO-OFDM system to reduce the Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR).

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) signal is considered a good candidate for wireless systems because it offers diversity gain in frequency selective channels. As in other multicarrier schemes, however, OFDM suffers from high peak to average power ratio (PAPR).
