KLK7, a tissue kallikrein‐related peptidase, is elevated in advanced colorectal cancer and associated with shorter survival. High KLK7 levels in ascites correlate with peritoneal metastasis. In mice, KLK7 overexpression increases metastasis. In vitro, KLK7 enhances cancer cell proliferation, migration, adhesion, and spheroid formation, driving ...

NF90–NF45 functions as a negative regulator of methyltransferase‐like 3/14 (METTL3/14)‐mediated N6‐methyladenosine (m6A) modification on primary microRNAs (pri‐miRNAs). NF90–NF45 binds to anti‐oncogenic pri‐miRNAs and inhibits their m6A modification, thereby suppressing the biogenesis of anti‐oncogenic miRNAs.

Aged human bmMSCs are seeded in the scaffold. Osteoblastic induction can slightly increase cell's bone‐forming activity to produce bone‐like tissues, shown as the sporadic xylenol orange‐stained spots (the lower left image). Notably, pioglitazone plus EGCG co‐treatment dramatically increases cell's bone‐forming activity and bone‐like tissue production (

Modeling of analytical peaks: Peaks properties and basic peak functions
Analytica Chimica Acta, 2006The general approach to the detailed characterizing of peak properties based on the use of characteristic points on a peak contour located at the certain levels is proposed. Three basic functions of peaks have been chosen which are submitted in normalized form on height and width. The ability to characterize a peaks shape of a certain analytical series

CONTROL OF COMPLEX PEAK-TO-PEAK DYNAMICS
International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2002The paper illustrates a method for the design of suitable controllers of chaotic systems characterized by complex peak-to-peak dynamics, namely by a recursive relationship between consecutive peaks (relative maxima) of a scalar output variable. For such systems, a reduced model can be defined which, in general, is a hybrid model composed of a one ...

PEAK-TO-PEAK DYNAMICS: A CRITICAL SURVEY
International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2000This paper is devoted to the study of a particular form of deterministic chaos, here called peak-to-peak dynamics (PPD). When a continuous-time system of order n has PPD, the amplitude and the time of occurrence of the next peak of its output variable can be predicted from information concerning at most two previous peaks.

Peak Oil, Peak Water, Peak Education
New Directions for Teaching and Learning, 2013AbstractThis chapter argues that today's dominant forms of education are insufficient for today's world because they ignore the vast and conventionally untapped resource that lies in the disciplined inwardness that is contemplative life. It then surveys a range of transformative examples that are emerging in the educational movement known as ...
