On the Relationship Between Peak Force and Peak Force Variability in Isometric Tasks
Journal of Motor Behavior, 1985An experiment is reported documenting the relationship between peak force and peak force variability with a fixed criterion time to peak force for an isometric task requiring activation of the elbow flexors. The results show that maximum peak force increases with increments in time to peak force and that peak force variability increases with increments

Peak dynamic force in human gait
Journal of Biomechanics, 1981Abstract Studies were made of the forces generated at heel stroke in human gait using both force plates having a high resonant frequencies (capable of picking up high frequency components in the contact force) as well as a force transducer inserted into the heel of the shoe of the subjects.

Verbal Estimation of Peak Force
Proceedings of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society Annual Meeting, 2001This study investigated the precision and accuracy with which individuals could estimate the magnitude of submaximal, upper extremity forceful exertions over a range of tasks typical of occupational/industrial settings. Without training, the average estimation errors were 15.3, 23.2, and 11.8%Max for low, medium, and high levels of force, respectively.

Peak-To-Average Power Ratio Reduction by Zero Forcing Peaks
2006 IEEE International Multitopic Conference, 2006One of main drawback of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is high peak to average power ratio (PAPR) which causes non-linearity at power amplifier stage. In this paper a new technique for reducing PAPR of the OFDM signal is implemented. This method does not spread the OFDM signal bandwidth and no additional IFFT has to be performed thus

Vertical peak ground force in human infant crawling
Gait & Posture, 2013Quadrupedalism is a common mode of locomotion in land animals. The load distribution between the forelimbs (FL) and hindlimbs (HL) in quadrupedalism has been of great interest to researchers, and a database of the vertical peak force (Vpk) for FL and HL has been created for various species. However, Vpk in human infant crawling, a natural form of human

High-speed atomic force microscopy and peak force tapping control
SPIE Proceedings, 2012ITRS Roadmap requires defect size measurement below 10 nanometers and challenging classifications for both blank and patterned wafers and masks. Atomic force microscope (AFM) is capable of providing metrology measurement in 3D at sub-nanometer accuracy but has long suffered from drawbacks in throughput and limitation of slow topography imaging ...

Relationship Between Isokinetic Average Force, Average Torque, Peak Force, and Peak Torque of the Knee Extensor and Flexor Musculature [PDF]
The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between average force, average torque, peak force, and peak torque produced by the knee musculature. Twenty women were assessed for isokinetic concentric and eccentric knee extensor and flexor muscular strength at a velocity of 90 deglsec.

Skyrme force with surface-peaked effective mass
Nuclear Physics A, 2001Abstract By adding to the conventional form of Skyrme force a term with simultaneous momentum and density dependence it is possible to define a new force, labeled SkSP.1, that gives a good fit to the masses of 416 spherical (or near-spherical) nuclei in Hartree–Fock BCS calculations, while having the nuclear-matter value of M ∗ .

Principle and Application of Peak Force Tapping Mode Atomic Force Microscope
2021Unlike conventional optical and electron microscopies, atomic force microscopy (AFM) characterizes the properties of samples at high resolution by controlling and detecting the interaction between the tip and the sample. The basic working principle of AFM is briefly described.

A force sensor and peak-reading recorder for measurement of cervical dilatation force
Journal of Biomedical Engineering, 1984Earlier dilatation force-sensing transducers, when subjected to side loads, suffered frictional losses which affected their accuracy. This new instrument incorporates a thermal-writing chart recorder and a digital readout of the peak force during dilatation of the cervix.
