A Theoretical Study of the Dependence of the Peak Ground Acceleration on Source and Structure Parameters

1987
The attenuation laws of peak ground acceleration (PGA) and root mean square acceleration (arms) are theoretically simulated for 6 differently laterally homogeneous models of the lithosphere. The anelastic properties of the structures are parametrized by quality factors.

Density Distribution of Landslides Triggered by the 2008 Wenchuan Earthquake and their Relationships to Peak Ground Acceleration

, 2013
The distribution of landslides induced by the 2008 M w 7.9 Wenchuan earthquake was investigated following the method of Meunier et al. (2007) to examine the relationships to peak ground acceleration (PGA).

Uncertainty in the estimates of peak ground acceleration in seismic hazard analysis

Izvestiya, Physics of the Solid Earth, 2015
Probabilistic seismic hazard analysis has become a standard procedure preceding the antiseismic construction. An important component of the relevant calculations is the allowance for the uncertainty in the strong motion parameters (e.g., peak ground acceleration (PGA)).

Updated Near-Source Ground-Motion (Attenuation) Relations for the Horizontal and Vertical Components of Peak Ground Acceleration and Acceleration Response Spectra

Bulletin of the Seismological Society of America, 2003
There is an error in equation (7) that causes the equation to be evaluated incorrectly for reverse and thrust faulting. The equation should read: ![Formula][1] (1) The results and conclusions are not affected by this change.

Peak ground acceleration prediction by fuzzy logic modeling for Iranian plateau

Acta Geophysica, 2019
In this study, fuzzy logic modeling is applied to a complex and nonlinear set of data to predict both horizontal and vertical peak ground accelerations in Iranian plateau. The data used for the model include an up-to-date seismic catalogue from earthquakes in Iran for prediction of both horizontal and vertical acceleration of a probable earthquake ...

Estimation of Peak Ground Acceleration from Horizontal Rigid Body Displacement: A Case Study in Port-au-Prince, Haiti

, 2012
The M 7.0 Haiti earthquake of 12 January 2010 caused catastrophic da- mage and loss of life in the capital city of Port-au-Prince. The extent of the damage was primarily due to poor construction and high population density. The earthquake was recorded by
