Explosive charge mass and peak particle velocity (PPV)-frequency relation in mining blast

open access: yesJournal of Geophysics and Engineering, 2010
A new relationship called the mass/peak particle velocity (PPV)-frequency relation in mining blast is introduced in this study. Two well-known formulae of mining engineering and geophysical engineering are joined to create a new formula which relates 'explosive charge' to 'PPV-frequency' at a target location.

Prediction of peak particle velocity using hybrid random forest approach [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports
Blasting excavation is widely used in mining, tunneling and construction industries, but it leads to produce ground vibration which can seriously damage the urban communities. The peak particle velocity (PPV) is one of main indicators for determining the

Blast Damage Assessment of Symmetrical Box-Shaped Underground Tunnel According to Peak Particle Velocity (PPV) and Single Degree of Freedom (SDOF) Criteria [PDF]

open access: yesSymmetry, 2018
This study aimed to determine the reliability of the damage criteria that was adopted by the peak particle velocity (PPV) method and the single degree of freedom (SDOF) approach to assess the damage level of a box-shaped underground tunnel. An advanced arbitrary Lagrangian Eulerian (ALE) technique available in LS-DYNA software was used to simulate a ...

Particle peak velocity prediction based on risk-oriented hybrid ensemble learning [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports
In blasting engineering, accurate prediction of peak particle velocity (PPV) is essential to ensuring the safety of surrounding structures. In machine-learning-based PPV prediction, symmetric loss functions (e.g. MSE) are commonly adopted as optimisation

ANALISIS GROUND VIBRATION DENGAN METODE PEAK PARTICLE VELOCITY (PPV)

open access: yesFaktor Exacta, 2021

Measurement of Peak Particle Velocity (PPV) mm / sec in the Sabo dam construction project was carried out using seismic accelerometers. This study is to determine the value of PPV produced by construction equipment and then compared with the BS 6472-2: 2008 standard. The measurement method is carried out based on the applicable rules.
