A Smart Magnetically Actuated Flip‐Disc Programmable Metasurface with Ultralow Power Consumption for Real‐Time Channel Control

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 15, 19 February 2026.
The study proposes a 1‐bit programmable metasurface based on flip‐disc display, named flip‐disc metasurface (FD‐MTS). This new design enables ultralow energy consumption while maintaining coding patterns. It also exhibits high scalability and multifunctional flexibility.

Dual-Use Unimodular Sequence Design via Frequency Nulling Modulation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
This paper is focused on the design of the shared signal for a dual-use system with radar detection and communication functions. To achieve a good aperiodic autocorrelation property of the shared signal for radar detection, the lp-norm of the ...

Damage‐Free Full‐Thickness Dicing of Ultra‐Thin GaAs Wafers Using a Femtosecond Laser with Low Residual Stress

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 7, 3 February 2026.
This study presents a femtosecond laser‐based ultrashort pulse dicing system that uses a non‐diffracting Bessel beam to shape the femtosecond laser. The use of femtosecond Bessel beam shaping and high‐speed scanning enables rapid material removal that outpaces thermal diffusion, thereby suppressing melting, minimizing the HAZ, and reducing sidewall ...

Eigenspace-Based Generalized Sidelobe Canceler Beamforming Applied to Medical Ultrasound Imaging

open access: yesSensors, 2016
The use of a generalized sidelobe canceler (GSC) can significantly improve the lateral resolution of medical ultrasound systems, but the contrast improvement isn’t satisfactory.

SPIDER: Probing the Early Universe with a Suborbital Polarimeter

open access: yes, 2013
We evaluate the ability of SPIDER, a balloon-borne polarimeter, to detect a divergence-free polarization pattern ("B-modes") in the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB).

A Linear‐to‐Linear Cross‐Polarization Conversion q‐BIC Metasurface for Transmission Mode Mid‐Infrared Spectral Filtering

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, Volume 20, Issue 4, 19 February 2026.
Manipulating the ultranarrow linewidth spectral features of quasi bound states in the continuum is challenging. A metasurface supporting linear‐to‐linear cross‐polarization coupling efficiency surpassing 25% is proposed to address the issue. Less than 100 nm linewidth is achieved, enabling the device to be applied to wavelength‐selective polarization ...

Bounds on the growth rate of the peak sidelobe level of binary sequences

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematics of Communications, 2007
The peak sidelobe level (PSL) of a binary sequence is the largest absolute value of all its nontrivial aperiodic autocorrelations. A classical prob- lem of digital sequence design is to determine how slowly the PSL of a length n binary sequence can grow, as n becomes large.

Lead and Floe Detection From CryoSat‐2 Radar and ICESat‐2 Laser Altimetry

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 13, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract Differences in satellite sampling affect their ability to resolve small‐scale features over Arctic sea ice. For CryoSat‐2 (CS2) and ICESat‐2 (IS2) these differences are driven by geometric (footprint resolution) and radiometric (radar or laser) sampling.

Sidelobe Level Reduction in the ACF of NLFM Signals Using the Smoothing Spline Method

open access: yesIEEE Access
The high level of sidelobes in the autocorrelation function of the nonlinear frequency modulation signal is a challenge. One of the conventional methods to reduce the sidelobe levels is to use the principle of stationary phase.
