We demonstrate a low latency delay of a radio frequency (RF)–linear frequency-modulated (LFM) pulse by modulating it onto optical carriers from a Kerr comb and sending the signal through a concatenation of off-the-shelf linearly chirped fiber Bragg ...

Dual-Use Unimodular Sequence Design via Frequency Nulling Modulation
This paper is focused on the design of the shared signal for a dual-use system with radar detection and communication functions. To achieve a good aperiodic autocorrelation property of the shared signal for radar detection, the lp-norm of the ...

Sparse Sensing with Semi-Coprime Arrays
A semi-coprime array (SCA) interleaves two undersampled uniform linear arrays (ULAs) and a $Q$ element standard ULA. The undersampling factors of the first two arrays are $QM$ and $QN$ respectively where $M$ and $N$ are coprime. The resulting non-uniform

Cosine Based Non-Linear Frequency Modulation Waveforms with Low Sidelobes [PDF]
Suppression of sidelobes is critical in most radar applications. The sidelobes of around -30 dB to -60dB are of primary interest in several radar applications. Several studies focused on the design of Nonlinear frequency modulated (NLFM) waveforms.

The authors propose a novel waveform, namely, the orthogonal double V‐linear frequency modulation (ODV‐LFM) and corresponding simultaneous polarimetric measurement and pointwise linear and non‐linear processing methods. The proposed waveform can mitigate the influence of delay‐Doppler coupling and reduce the risk of false targets and ghosts in multiple‐

On the anti‐intercept features of noise radars
An evaluation of the related Low Probability of Detection, of Intercept and of Exploitation is presented for Continuous‐Emission Noise Radar waveforms with different operational parameters, that is, “tailored”, and with various “degrees of randomness”. The effect of “tailoring” is analysed with prospects for future work.

Design of Binary Coded Pulse Trains with Good Autocorrelation Properties for Radar Communications
Finite length of sequences that are modulated both in phase and amplitude and have an ideal autocorrelation function (ACF) consisting of merely a pulse have many applications in control and communication systems.

In this article, the authors propose to use a smart binary phase‐coding (SBPC) method for a pulse compression radar as an electronic protection technique against repeater jamming. This approach further improves the target detection capability of modern radar systems, which use coherent integration in the receiver.

Sidelobe Suppression of Polyphase Coded Signal Using Different Filters
This paper deals with different types of polyphase coded signals in terms of their correlation properties. The (Frank, P1, P2, P3 and P4) polyphase codes and the Iterative Reweight Least Square(IRLS) procedure were used in this work. Each polyphase code

Joint transceive beamforming for multistatic radar system by semi‐definite relaxation method
The authors present a novel transmit and receive beamforming algorithm for the multistatic radar system that includes a common transmitter and multiple receivers. To ensure the balanced performance of the subsystems, the authors propose a weighted sum of the SINR optimisation problem to co‐design the transmit and receive beamforming. Abstract The joint
