On the peak-to-average power ratio of M-sequences

open access: yesFinite Fields and Their Applications, 2006
Let \(\mathbb F_q\), \(q=2^m\), be a finite field with a primitive element \(\alpha\). For \(\beta\in \mathbb F_q^*\), the \(M\)-sequence is: \[ a_k(\beta )=(-1)^{\text{tr}(\beta\alpha^k)},\qquad 0\leq k < q-1, \] where \(\text{tr}\) is the trace form \(\mathbb F_q\) to \(\mathbb F_2\).

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

A Generalized Construction of OFDM M-QAM Sequences With Low Peak-to-Average Power Ratio

open access: yes, 2009
A construction of $2^{2n}$-QAM sequences is given and an upper bound of the peak-to-mean envelope power ratio (PMEPR) is determined. Some former works can be viewed as special cases of this construction.Comment: published by Advances in Mathematics of ...

Correlative coding with clipping and filtering technique in OFDM Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The major setbacks of Orthogonal Frequency Multiplexing (OFDM) is its peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) and intercarrier interference (ICI). The occurrence of these factors restricts its application.

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

A 2.5-GHz asymmetric multilevel outphasing power amplifier in 65-nm CMOS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We present a high-efficiency transmitter based on asymmetric multilevel outphasing (AMO). AMO transmitters improve their efficiency over LINC (linear amplification using nonlinear components) transmitters by switching the output envelopes of the power ...

Peak-to-average power ratio reduction for OFDM modems [PDF]

open access: yesThe 57th IEEE Semiannual Vehicular Technology Conference, 2003. VTC 2003-Spring., 2004
A novel technique of reducing the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) of multi-carrier (MC) modulated signals is proposed. The method advocated is spectrally efficient, has a low implementational complexity and hence it is also suitable for low-power, portable implementation.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Particle Swarm Optimization-based dummy sub-carriers insertion for peak to average power ratio reduction in OFDM systems

open access: yesICT Express, 2022
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is the best choice for wireless and wired high data rate communications. The OFDM system has many advantages such as high spectral efficiency, robustness to channel fading, and immunity to impulse ...

CDMA signature sequences with low peak-to-average-power ratio via alternating projection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Several algorithms have been proposed to construct optimal signature sequences that maximize the sum capacity of the uplink in a direct-spread synchronous code division multiple access (CDMA) system.
