Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

Bilateral Isokinetic Peak Torque, Torque Acceleration Energy, Power, and Work Relationships in Athletes and Nonathletes [PDF]
Clinicians frequently assume the uninjured extremity can be used as a predictor of preinjury strength for return of the injured extremity to a normal state during rehabilitation. The purpose of this study was to examine differences in bilateral isokinetic peak torque (PT) at 60 and 180 O/sec, and torque acceleration energy (TAE), average power (AP ...

Copper‐based composites enhanced with carbon feature convenient mechanical properties and favorable electric conductivity. Processing via deformation and thermomechanical treatments can introduce advantageous microstructures further enhancing their performance. Herein, copper–graphene powder‐based composites are directly consolidated via rotary swaging

Optimization of the Production of Rubber Compounds Using Mathematical Models
Rubber compounds were mixed in a batch internal mixer, and symbolic regression was used to derive mathematical models linking recipe and process parameters to ram path, torque, and mixing quality (incorporation, dispersion, distribution). Subsequent optimization with evolutionary algorithms identified operating conditions that reduce specific energy ...

Background: Anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) often results in residual strength deficits in knee muscles, which may affect an athlete’s return to performance. Isokinetic testing and thigh circumference measurements offer valuable insights

Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

Hamstring Torque, Velocity and Power Elastic Band Measurements during Hip Extension and Knee Flexion
The quantitative dynamic monitoring of the performance of hamstring muscles during rehabilitation and training cannot currently be undertaken using elastic resistance bands. Hip extension with a fully extended knee involves hamstring agonists, while knee

Eccentric Peak Torque of the Plantar and Dorsiflexors Is Maintained in Older Women [PDF]
Although a relative preservation of eccentric (ECC) strength with age has been reported previously, this phenomenon has not been studied in lower leg muscles. Concentric (CONC) and ECC plantar (PF) and dorsiflexion (DF) in healthy active older women (OW; n = 16, age = 67 +/- 4 years) and younger women (YW; n = 16, age = 27 +/- 4 years) were studied ...

This study shows that superalloys used in aircraft engine disks become much more prone to deformation at high temperatures if they have been strained during manufacturing. This effect increases with the level of prior strain but eventually reaches a limit.
