Economic Benefits of Nuclear Power Plant Participating in Peak Load Regulation of Power System
2018 International Conference on Smart Grid and Electrical Automation (ICSGEA), 2018In contemporary times, the global energy crisis and environmental pollution are becoming more and more serious, and mankind is constantly exploring the sustainable development of economy, energy and environment. In this context, nuclear power as an economic, clean, environmental protection of energy, has been favored by many countries.

Analysis of a diesel-generator-assisted peak power reduction in a production plant
2020 IEEE 11th International Symposium on Power Electronics for Distributed Generation Systems (PEDG), 2020In this paper, a possibility is investigated to reduce the monthly electricity bills for a production plant, mostly through peak power costs reduction, by using a diesel-generator of appropriate size. The research relies on a dataset of mean powers drawn by a production plant from the electrical distribution grid in 15-minute intervals.

Dry and Wet-Peaking Tower Cooling Systems For Power Plant Application
Journal of Engineering for Power, 1976A new concept of power plant heat-sink system is presented which employs the combination of a conventional wet-tower and a conventional dry-tower. The purpose of this cooling system is to reduce wet cooling-tower makeup-water requirements in water-short areas. The dry tower operates all year around while the wet-peaking tower is used only above certain

Dual Open Cycle Peaking Gas Turbine Power Plant
ASME 2005 Power Conference, 2005The generation of electrical power is a complex matter that is dependent in part both on the anticipated demand and the actual amount of power required on the grid. Therefore, the amount of power being generated varies widely depending on the time of day, day of the week, and atmospheric conditions such as cold spells and heat waves.

Algorithm for fault prediction of power plant machines using peak codes
2008 Third International Forum on Strategic Technologies, 2008Fault detection systems for machines used in a power plant have been actively studied in universities and research institutes around the world. Previous research has led to the development of detection systems that use vibration, temperature, and pressure as its measurement gauges.

Optimization of virtual power plant power peaking considering net load peak-to-valley difference
Ingegneria SismicaAbout the growing gap between the peak and trough values of the net load in the new-energy grid-connected virtual power plant, people have already confirmed that the traditional peak-adjustment optimization method does not have effect. This research puts forward a power peak disposition model for the virtual power plant, which depends on the ...

Comparison of SOE/SOFC system configurations for a peak hydrogen power plant
International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, 2017Abstract A variant analysis of a potential configuration of a peak-load system which is based on SOE/SOFC module and hydrogen storage is presented in this article. The most rational configuration of the power plant with the SOE/SOFC appears to reach a high total electricity-to-electricity conversion rate with small and medium size plants.

Integrated Biomass Power Plant and Storage for Peak Load Management
2012Abstract This paper presents a simulation based linear programming model of a biomass power plant integrated with energy storage (ES) system for peak load demand management. The integrated biomass power plant using biomass bubbling fluidized bed technology (BBFB) with ES is then compared to a biomass power plant without ES.
