Eggshell‐Based Biochar for Superior Adsorption of Crystal Violet Dye and Fluoride From Wastewater

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Present study investigates the efficiency of eggshell biochar as a low‐cost and ecofriendly adsorbent for the simultaneous removal of fluoride ions and crystal violet (CV) dye from wastewater. The eggshell waste was pyrolyzed to produce biochar, which was thoroughly characterized and subsequently employed for contaminant adsorption.

Tidally induced bars in dwarf galaxies on different orbits around a Milky Way-like host

open access: yes, 2017
Bars in galaxies may develop through a global instability or due to an interaction with another system. We study bar formation in disky dwarf galaxies orbiting a Milky Way-like galaxy. We employ $N$-body simulations to study the impact of initial orbital

Characteristics of the peanut chain in Europe – Implications for peanut allergy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Background. Peanuts are one of the main food allergens, occasionally responsible for life-threatening reactions. Thus, many studies have tried to find a connection between peanut allergy prevalence and processes in the peanut chain that may contribute to

Removal of Methylene Blue and Congo Red Dyes Using Sustainable and Eco‐Friendly Bioadsorbents: A Review

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The continuous increasing discharge of synthetic dyes into aquatic systems seems to be an important environmental and health risk due to their high toxicity and resistance to biodegradation. Among these dyes, methylene blue (MB) and Congo red (CR) are widely used in textile and industrial applications, necessitating sustainable and efficient ...

Chromium Metal Biosorption Using Peanut Shell Adsorbent

open access: yesEquilibrium Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2018
<p>One of the negative effects of the industrial growth is the presence of hazardous waste such as heavy metals. Chromium (VI) is a heavy metal which acts as the pollutant for  the  environment. Chromium concentration in  water  can  be  reduced using some methods. Adsorption is the most favorite method.

Sustainable Graphene Oxide–Intercalated Bentonite Composite for the Effective Removal of Imidacloprid From Water: Adsorption Performance, Isotherm, and Kinetics

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Water is a fundamental necessity for our existence, but its rapid contamination is causing devastating effects on the environment and health of living species worldwide. Adsorptive removal of pollutants is one of the popular water treatment techniques because of its simplicity, affordability, and the broad range of available adsorbents.

Mean Field Theoretical Structure of He and Be Isotopes

open access: yes, 2006
The structures of He and Be even-even isotopes are investigated using an axially symmetric Hartree-Fock approach with a Skyrme-IIIls mean field potential. In these simple HF calculations, He and Be isotopes appear to be prolate in their ground states and

Raw citrus by‐product valorization: unlocking the potential of biotransformation by Talaromyces amestolkiae to obtain cellulolytic enzymes and natural colorants

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract Agro‐industrial by‐products can be used as valuable nutrient sources for the sustainable production of high‐value‐added compounds. The goal of this study was utilize raw citrus industrial by‐product (RCB) as a carbon source for the simultaneous production of red colorants and enzymes by the filamentous fungus Talaromyces amestolkiae under lab ...
