Geographical range size is a fundamental ecological characteristic of a species. We quantified the effects of phylogeny, climatic niche breadth, morphological traits and ploidy on range size variation of Betula species. Climatic niche breadth has the strongest effect on the range size variation of Betula species.

From glomalin to glomalose: unraveling the molecular identity of the MAb32B11 antigen
Summary Glomalin, a substance produced by arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi, has well‐documented benefits for plant and soil health, including water retention and soil aggregation. Glomalin quantification has been performed by enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) using a monoclonal antibody, MAb32B11, that has been described as targeting a heat ...

Summary Ectomycorrhizal fungi (ECM) can influence soil carbon (C) accrual and loss. The mechanisms and environmental controls of this balance are unclear, and direct evidence is needed. We assessed the influence of atmospheric CO2 and inorganic nitrogen (N) on the impact of two ECM fungi on the cycling of native and new soil C. We inoculated Eucalyptus
