Long‐term recovery and food web response of benthic macrofauna following cessation of bottom trawling in a marine protected area

open access: yesConservation Science and Practice, Volume 7, Issue 4, April 2025.
The study is unique in covering how the benthic community has responded to a long‐term fishing closure in one of Europe's largest strictly marine protected areas. We find the recovery of species and strong links to the food web in the response to protection.

Well-posedness for a modified Zakharov system [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2006
The Cauchy problem for a modified Zakharov system is proven to be locally well-posed for rough data in two and three space dimensions. In the three dimensional case the problem is globally well-posed for data with small energy. Under this assumption there also exists a global classical solution for sufficiently smooth data.

Fine Scale Patterns of Population Structure and Connectivity in Scandinavian Flat Oysters in Scandinavia (Ostrea edulis L.)

open access: yesEvolutionary Applications, Volume 18, Issue 4, April 2025.
ABSTRACT Stocks of the European flat oyster, Ostrea edulis, have collapsed due to overfishing, habitat destruction, and pathogen outbreaks across most of their distribution range. Nonetheless, as a result of lower exploitation pressure and the absence of pathogens in the most northern part of the range, a large part of the remaining wild population can

Are interest groups different in the factors determining landscape preferences?

open access: yesLandscape Online, 2016
In the last decades, rural landscape in Europe has evolved from an agricultural by-product to an important public good. This development creates not only new challenges to farming practices, it also makes participation and public involvement an ...

Role of tectonic stress in seepage evolution along the gas hydrate‐charged Vestnesa Ridge, Fram Strait [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Methane expulsion from the world ocean floor is a broadly observed phenomenon known to be episodic. Yet the processes that modulate seepage remain elusive.

Classification of skew multiplicity free modules [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2010
Let $G$ be a connected reductive group defined over $\CC$ with a finite dimensional representation $V$. The action of $G$ is said to be skew multiplicity-free (SMF) if the exterior algebra $\bigwedge V$ contains no irreducible representation of $G$ with multiplicity $> 1$. In this paper we classify all such representations.

Mytilus galloprovincialis's role in Integrated Multi‐Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA): A comprehensive review

open access: yesJournal of the World Aquaculture Society, Volume 56, Issue 2, April 2025.
Mytilus galloprovincialis in IMTA. Abstract Sustainable mussel farming practices are critical for maintaining production and enhancing growth of the low trophic aquaculture sector. The concept of Integrated Multi‐Trophic Aquaculture (IMTA) and incorporating mussels as extractive species, holds promise for enhancing overall system efficiency, nutrient ...

Embodying Artifact Production Knowledge [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
On a modified view of embodied cognition, I argue that the conceptual structure of some present-day’s abstract artifact concepts such as PIECE OF MUSIC or PIECE OF ART can be effectively explained if it is taken into account that “visual recordings” of ...

A remark on low regularity solutions of the Chern-Simons-Dirac system [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
An alternative proof of low regularity well-posedness for the Chern-Simons-Dirac system in Coulomb gauge is given which completely avoids the use of any null structure similarly to a recent result of Bournaveas-Candy-Machihara. An unconditional uniqueness result is also given.
