Even some long‐term studies must rely on estimated ages when particularly long‐lived species are involved. Using empirical probabilities of life‐history event timing, we update age estimates for Northern Resident killer whales that were born before the start of observation, five decades ago.

Local solutions with infinite energy of the Maxwell-Chern-Simons-Higgs system in Lorenz gauge [PDF]
We consider the Maxwell-Chern-Simons-Higgs system in Lorenz gauge and use a null condition to show local well-psoedness for low regularity data. This improves a recent result of J. Yuan.

Congruency between word position and meaning is caused by task Induced spatial attention
We report an experiment that compared two explanations for the effect of congruency between a word’s on screen spatial position and its meaning.

Low regularity solutions for Chern-Simons-Dirac systems in the temporal and Coulomb gauge [PDF]
We prove low regularity local well-posedness results in Bourgain-Klainerman-Machedon spaces for the Chern-Simons-Dirac system in the temporal gauge and the Coulomb gauge. Under slightly stronger assumptions on the data we also obtain "unconditional" uniqueness in the natural solution spaces.

Photolysis of a suspension (C6H6;I2) of 1-(4-formylphenyl)-2-(2-benzo[c]phenanthryl)ethylene and 1-(4-formylphenyl)-2-(2-naphthyl)ethylene anchored on a styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer (1a and 1b), followed by hydrolysis, yielded hexahelicene-2 ...

Discourse comprehension and simulation of positive emotions [PDF]
Recent research has suggested that emotional sentences are understood by constructing an emotion simulation of the events being described. The present study aims to investigate whether emotion simulation is also involved in online and offline ...

Service selection and switching decisions: user behavior in high-interoperability environments
Current legislation and market dynamics require and encourage systems to become more open and interoperable. Given this shift, the challenge arises as to how service providers can navigate such environments and whether and how known platform economics ...

Global well-posedness below energy space for the 1D Zakharov system [PDF]
The Cauchy problem for the 1-dimensional Zakharov system is shown to be globally well-posed for large data which not necessarily have finite energy. The proof combines the local well-posedness result of Ginibre, Tsutsumi, Velo and a general method introduced by Bourgain to prove a similar result for nonlinear Schr\"odinger equations.

Large data pointwise decay for defocusing semilinear wave equations
We generalize the pointwise decay estimates for large data solutions of the defocusing semilinear wave equations which we obtained earlier under restriction to spherical symmetry.
