Controlled Synthesis and Enhanced Photocatalytic Performance of MgAl2O4 Spinel Nanopowders for Environmental Applications

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 15, Issue 8, August 2026.
A simple solid‐state route was employed to synthesize MgAl2O4 spinel nanopowders with high photocatalytic efficiency. The obtained nanomaterial achieved 95% degradation of Rhodamine B under Xe lamp irradiation, demonstrating its potential as an efficient photocatalyst for wastewater purification. Nanopowders of magnesium aluminate spinel (MgAl2O4) were

NiO Dissolution in Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell Cathodes: Challenges and Strategies for Long‐Term Stability

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 13, Issue 13, 2 July 2026.
Molten carbonate fuel cells (MCFCs) enable efficient power generation and CO2 capture but suffer from nickel oxide (NiO) cathode dissolution, which limits lifetime. This review summarizes strategies to mitigate NiO degradation, including coatings, doping, alternative cathode materials, and electrolyte modification.

ZrTiO4 Nanowire Growth Using Membrane-assisted Pechini Route

open access: yesOrbital: The Electronic Journal of Chemistry, 2016
The high surface-to-volume ratio of nanowires makes them natural competitors as newer device components. In this regard, a current major challenge is to produce quasi-one-dimensional nanostructures composed of well-established oxide-based materials. This

Bridging Boltzmann and Non‐Boltzmann Optical Thermometry Enabled by Multimodal Perovskite Nanocrystals

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 14, Issue 26, 10 July 2026.
Multimodal perovskite nanocrystals enable optical thermometry across multiple excitation and emission regimes, spanning the UV–Vis–NIR spectral range. By combining upconversion, downshifting, and persistent luminescence, the platform bridges conventional Boltzmann and non‐Boltzmann thermometric approaches.

Photo‐Electrocatalytic Activity and Photo‐Induced Charge Storage of a CeO2/Ce(TeO3)2 Composite Photo‐Anode for the Visible‐Light‐Driven Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER) in KOH, NaOH, and LiOH

open access: yesNano Select, Volume 7, Issue 7, July 2026.
For the CeO2/CeTe2O6 composite, synthesized through the sol–gel technique and subsequent calcination at 800°C, the oxygen evolution reaction is the most active in a KOH electrolyte (CeTO‐800), compared to NaOH and LiOH, for both illuminated (PEC) and post‐Illuminated (OFF) samples.

GREEN AND CONVENTIONAL SYNTHESIS OF NiO NANOPARTICLES: IMPACT OF ERUCA SATIVA ON PHOTOCATALYSIS

open access: yesMateriali in Tehnologije
In this study, we report a hybrid synthesis route to nickel oxide (NiO) nanoparticles that combines conventional sol–gel and Pechini methods with a green, bio-mediated approach using Eruca sativa (rocket) extract for the first time in NiO synthesis. This

Exsolved SrTiRuOx‐Based Catalyst for Selective Hydrodeoxygenation and Hydrodecarboxylation of PET‐Glycolysis‐Derived Bis(2‐hydroxyethyl) Terephthalate

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 11, 15 June 2026.
The exsolved perovskite catalyst SrTiRuOx was synthesized and applied to the catalytic HDO of PET‐derived BHET, producing deoxygenated hydrocarbons. A high cyclohexane selectivity of 69% and a deoxygenated product yield of 40 carbon% were achieved.

Synthesis and Characterization of Nano-Particles of Niobium Pentoxide with Orthorhombic Symmetry

open access: yesMetals, 2017
In this work, a set of nanoparticles of Nb2O5 nanoparticles were grown by both the Pechini and the sol-gel methods. The amorphous materials were calcined at 650 #xB0;C or at 750 °C.
