Electromechanical Microinjection of Pink Bollworm Pectinophora gossypiella Embryos Increases Survival

open access: yesBioTechniques, 1997
We report and compare methods and apparatus for injection of pink bollworm, Pectinophora gossypiella (Saunders), embryos. Injection with an electromechanical device resulted in 59% survival of embryos.

Fitness costs associated with Vip3Aa resistance on various hosts in Helicoverpa zea. [PDF]

open access: yesPest Manag Sci
Significant fitness costs associated with Vip3Aa resistance in H. zea were observed across three non‐Bt hosts. Abundant non‐Bt refuges could help limit the spread of Vip3Aa resistance in H. zea in the field. Abstract BACKGROUND Transgenic crops containing Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) proteins are crucial for managing major agricultural pests such as the

Bt agave: why it is time to explore a new biotechnological frontier. [PDF]

open access: yesPest Manag Sci
Drylands cover 41% of Earth, requiring sustainable crops. Agave, drought‐ and heat‐adapted, offers high‐value products with low water needs. Pests limit yield, yet Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) Cry proteins, successful in other plants, remain unexploited in Agave.

Cross-resistance of pink bollworm (Pectinophora gossypiella) to Bacillus thuringiensis toxins. [PDF]

open access: yesAppl Environ Microbiol, 2000
ABSTRACT Two strains of pink bollworm ( Pectinophora gossypiella ) selected in the laboratory for resistance to Bacillus thuringiensis toxin Cry1Ac had substantial cross-resistance to Cry1Aa and Cry1Ab but not to Cry1Bb, Cry1Ca, Cry1Da, Cry1Ea, Cry1Ja, Cry2Aa, Cry9Ca, H04, or H205 ...

Alterations in Biomarkers Associated with Sterility in Pectinophora gossypiella (Saunders) Induced by Gamma Irradiation [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian Archives of Biology and Technology, 2017
Nowadays, radiation technology is widely used to produce changes in Biosystems. The goal of this work is to determine the variation induced male Pectinophora gossypiella in gamma-irradiated as pupae using 50Gy and 150Gy.

Compatibility of gamma irradiation and entomopathogenic nematodes in management of the cotton bollworm Pectinophora gossypiella (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae)

open access: yesJournal of Radiation Research and Applied Sciences, 2023
Compatibility of gamma irradiation and entomopathogenic nematodes as a management program for management of Pectinophora gossypiella in the laboratory are a vital issue in research, but they are used as an alternative technique for insect management are ...

FEEDING CAPACITY OF THE SPIDER Anelosimus studiosus HENTZ (ARACHNIDA :THERIDIIDAE) FED ON DIFFERENT LARVAE OF LEPIDOPTERUS PESTS (GELECHIIDAE AND NOCTUIDAE [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Plant Protection and Pathology, 2011
Some biological aspects of the spider Anelosimus studiosus (Hentz) fed on first instar larvae of Pectinophora gossypiella (Saund.) and the second instar larvae of Spodoptera littoralis (Boisd.) were studied under laboratory conditions of 25±1ºC and 65±5%
