TOXICOLOGICAL AND BIOLOGICAL EFFECTS OF LUFENERON AND DIFLUBENZURON ON PINK BOLLWORN PECTINOPHORA Gossypiella (SAUNDERS) (LEPIDOPTERA:GELECHIIDAE). [PDF]
Under the laboratory conditions, toxicological evaluation of two compoundslufenuoron & diflubenzuron against newly hatched larvae of Pectinophora gossypiella (Saund.) and biological effect of these compounds on larvae, pupae and adult emergence ...

Lippia umbellata Cav.: Chemical Composition, Insecticidal, and Antimicrobial Activities
Hexane extracts of Lippia umbellata leaves and flowers contain lupenone, α‐amyrin, and hentriacontane. They exhibit insecticidal activity against Drosophila melanogaster and inhibit AChE in vitro and in silico. Furthermore, the extracts can inhibit the growth of medically important bacteria and yeasts, including multidrug‐resistant strains.

Leaf age influences metabolomic profiling but not bioactivity of Eucalyptus globulus essential oils. Leaf age affects volatile levels of young and adult E. globulus oils, but not their bioactivity. Young leaf essential oil had higher contents of α‐ and β‐pinene. AEEO had higher levels of 1,8‐cineole and trans‐pinocarveol.

Fitness Costs of Resistance to Bacillus thuringiensis in the Pink Bollworm Pectinophora gossypiella
Resistance to Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) cotton, Gossypium hirsutum, is associated with fitness costs in pink bollworm, Pectinophora gossypiella. Previous work has demonstrated that costs of resistance are induced by environmental factors including ...

Binding and Oligomerization of Modified and Native Bt Toxins in Resistant and Susceptible Pink Bollworm. [PDF]
Insecticidal proteins from Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) are used extensively in sprays and transgenic crops for pest control, but their efficacy is reduced when pests evolve resistance.

Molecular mechanisms of sex determination in Lepidoptera: current status and perspectives
The genetic basis of sex determination in Lepidoptera was discovered in 2014 in the silkworm Bombyx mori. In this model species, the W chromosome‐derived small piRNA called Fem piRNA downregulates the expression of a Z‐linked gene, Masculinizer (Masc), which leads to the default female‐specific splicing of the doublesex gene (dsxF) and thus to female ...

INFLUENCE OF OVERWINTERING LARVAL DIAPAUSE ON SUSCEPTIBILITY OF Pectinophora gossypiella (SAUNDERS) (LEPIDOPTERA: GELECHIIDAE) TO SEVERAL INSECTICIDES [PDF]
To investigate the effect of overwintering larval diapause on the susceptibility of pink bollworm, Pectinophora gossypiella (Saunders) to various insecticidal classes (lambda-cyhalothrin, chlorpyrifos, methomyl, emamectin benzoate and spinetoram ...

Abstract The Sterile Insect Technique (SIT) is an environmentally friendly, sustainable pest control approach, which uses large‐scale releases of sterile insects to suppress or eradicate target populations through infertile matings. The efficiency of SIT is enhanced by male‐only releases requiring genetic sexing strains (GSSs) that are classically ...
