Peculiar Velocity Dipoles of Field Galaxies

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1998
The Tully-Fisher (Tully and Fisher 1977; TF) relation is applied to obtain peculiar velocities of field spirals galaxies and to calculate dipoles of the peculiar velocity field to cz ~ 8000 km/s. The field galaxy sample is spatially co-extensive with and completely independent on a cluster sample, for which dipole characteristics are given in a ...

Non-comoving baryons and cold dark matter in cosmic voids

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2019
We examine the fully relativistic evolution of cosmic voids constituted by baryons and cold dark matter (CDM), represented by two non-comoving dust sources in a $$\varLambda $$ Λ CDM background.

Hopfield Neural Networks for Online Constrained Parameter Estimation With Time‐Varying Dynamics and Disturbances

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This paper proposes two projector‐based Hopfield neural network (HNN) estimators for online, constrained parameter estimation under time‐varying data, additive disturbances, and slowly drifting physical parameters. The first is a constraint‐aware HNN that enforces linear equalities and inequalities (via slack neurons) and continuously tracks the ...

Systematic Search for Water Fountain Candidates Using the Databases of Circumstellar Maser Sources

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
Water fountains (WFs) are thought to be objects in the morphological evolution of the circumstellar envelopes of low- and intermediate-mass evolved stars, transitioning from spherically symmetric to asymmetric shapes.

A Comparison between Position-Based and Image-Based Dynamic Visual Servoings in the Control of a Translating Parallel Manipulator

open access: yesJournal of Robotics, 2012
Two different visual servoing controls have been developed to govern a translating parallel manipulator with an eye-in-hand configuration, That is, a position-based and an image-based controller.

Current Tracking Adaptive Control of Brushless DC Motors

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
In this paper, the current tracking for Brushless Direct Current motors is approached considering uncertainty in the parameters of the motor's model. An adaptive control scheme to compensate electrical parameters uncertainty is proposed without requiring any knowledge of the mechanical parameters.

An Adaptive Human Pilot Model With Reaction Time Delay for Enhanced Adaptive Control in Piloted Systems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This work introduces an adaptive human pilot model that captures pilot time‐delay effects in adaptive control systems. The model enables the prediction of pilot–controller interactions, facilitating safer integration and improved design of adaptive controllers for piloted applications.
